A Testimony from a Black American: How Rush Limbaugh rescued me from liberalism - Thanks to Limbaugh, everything about Democrats is predictable

Like millions of my fellow Americans, it was like a gut shot hearing the news that Rush Limbaugh went to be with the LORD after succumbing to stage four lung cancer. At first, I was very sad, but I then got an image of Rush just beaming joyfully in the presence of God and it brought a smile to my face. I have never met Mr. Limbaugh, but I can honestly say he changed my life. He is the reason, this American, who also happens to be Black, became a conservative.

I first listened to Mr. Limbaugh in 1993 and I was intrigued. I didn’t really have a choice. You see, the car I was driving at the time only had an AM radio and the only station it received was the one broadcasting Rush’s syndicated show in the morning.

During my commute to work, my only listening choice was Rush Limbaugh. At first, I listened out of morbid curiosity, since Limbaugh at this point in was beginning to become the subject of many news reports and features, many of which portrayed him as a racist.

Weeks had gone by and I had not heard this Limbaugh guy spew any racist venom. But a funny thing happened: I found myself agreeing with much of what he was saying. At first, I was in denial because at the time I was a liberal and did not dare entertain the notion that I might have some conservative tendencies. After all, I was told by my parents and the culture that Conservatives/Republicans were racist towards Blacks. Now I was finding myself agreeing with a guy that the media had deemed as dangerous. This was a real conundrum since, at the time, I believed everything the media reported as truth.

Mr. Limbaugh’s greatest legacy in my humble opinion was educating his listeners in the liberal mindset. As a result, it was no surprise to read of the vile leftist tweets and comments regarding his passing. These are truly sick people who are overcome with hate. Frankly, who gives a flying you-know-what about the bile spewed by these demon-possessed losers. Thanks to Limbaugh, everything about Democrats is predictable.

Anger (hatred) is an acid that does more harm to the vessel in which it’s stored than to anything on which it’s poured..

Pretty soon liberals will be wandering around looking like vampires; they have that much hatred in them.

I first heard this in 1954 on my first job and I’ve never forgotten it.

Here’s the thing about the mainstream media “news” — it is a neat package: The audience get a factual statement that was usually somewhat accurate (and even that is now doubtful), an analysis from one or two experts who were invariably from the left, and a neat conclusion pushing a leftist point of view.

Rush offered something completely different. His three-hour airtime allowed him to develop ideas at some leisure. Not for Rush the neatly packaged, ideological snippets. Instead, with tremendous humor and clarity, Rush would walk his listeners through his thought processes, listing the facts, identifying his assumptions, and explaining how he reached his conclusions. As often as not, I agreed with him but, when I didn’t, I still respected his intellectual honesty and acumen.

It’s quite a high compliment to Rush that ordinary liberals believe he has extraordinary powers. It isn’t every conservative radio or talk show host who is perceived as so compelling and seductive that he can destroy people’s worldview in an instant.

I first heard of Limbaugh in an LA Times article in 1990/1.

Needless to say, it was a negative profile, made it seem he was demagogic and used flawed logic.

When I listened I waited for the things the writer described, but they never showed up.

He was not like the author described.

“...mainstream media “news” — it is a neat package...”

If the MSM mentions Conservatism at all, it’s only to misrepresent it. And the misrepresentation always spins to favor the Liberal point of view.

The deck has been stacked for a long time. I know better, but so many people do not and they swallow that stuff whole.

To me, if you editorialize, if you only tell half the facts or if you omit any facts....it’s the same as a lie.

Our so called media has no conception of just how unethical they are

Of the three sons of Noah each has had their turn of being prominent in history. The sons of Ham went first. They built Babylon and Assyrian into a world power, next came Shem. Then at about the time of Christ world power went to the west, and Japheth has been in control. I believe each race has had opportunity to be leaders for God. We have all failed.
God made us all, no matter color, come from Adam through Noah and we are all able to choose Him as Lord of our lives. I agree people have not always treated others with love, but that is people of all three colors. God created that too for a reason.
The only good love we have for fellow man is the love of God.
