For stranded motorists, those without power, and anyone in need of warmth, warming stations are available at locations across the state.
The National Guard is deployed across Texas to conduct welfare checks and assist local authorities in helping those in need find a local warming station.
To find the closest warming shelter, please use the map below or for information on additional assistance and resources call 2-1-1.
Any groups collecting Warm Clothing and sending to Poor Texas ?
No need to check on my neighbors they had a party last night, 8-10 people were on the frozen swimming pool at 1am finally went in at 2 and were out singing and having a pep rally on their balcony at 330m. People are starting to have a hard time dealing with this. Thank God it is Texas, 70 degrees expected next Wed.
I have a down filled parka up here in Canada for extreme cold I don’t need but it would seem a waste in Texas most of the time.
What’s providing the warmth for those warming stations? Solar collectors? Windmills? Recycled methane?
PETROLEUM products. Oil, gas, coal.
What is powering the tow trucks, ambulances, police cars, snow plows? Hmmmmm?
By next week it will warm up there. That’s why they call it climate change.
Why are motorists stranded?
It’s presently snowing hard in San Antonio. Get inside!
