Climate deniers are using a spell of unusually cold weather in Europe to incorrectly argue that CO2 emissions are not warming the planet.
As Germans shiver through double-digit negative temperatures and more than 80 centimeters (30 inches) of snow in parts of the country, climate science deniers have taken to social media to argue that global warming is a hoax.
Their claim — which has been repeatedly debunked by climate scientists — is that extremely cold weather shows that carbon dioxide emissions are not warming the Earth.
In fact, the effects of global warming may even have favored the extremely cold temperature.
How can climate change make the weather colder?
Through the burning of fossil fuels, people have heated the planet by more than 1 degrees Celsius (1.8 F) since the Industrial Revolution. The decade from 2010 to 2019 was the hottest on record. Climate change, however, doesn't only lead to higher temperatures, but more extreme weather.
This is where the disproportionate warming of the Arctic comes into play, said Stefan Rahmstorf, head of the Earth System Analysis research department at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). Temperatures in the Arctic have risen more than twice as fast as the global average over the past 40 years. "These changes are affecting the weather in Europe."

The sort of really cold harsh winter weather that is affecting Europe and the Western and Northeastern part of the US is usually a sign that there is a major Global Warming conference going on. I haven’t heard of one recently.
If the “scientists” can’t explain what really happened to all that heat, then the truth is that their “climate change” narrative however pleasing to power happy politicians is badly flawed.

No one denies there is a climate.
It is unusually warm, it is proof positive of Global Warming. If it is unusually cold, it is proof positive of Global Warming. If it is dry, wet, windy, not windy ... it doesn’t matter.
No matter what the weather happens to be it is proof positive of Global Warming.

Lie - Few disagree with the fact that Earth’s climate changes, what us “climate deniers” don’t accept is that humans have any real effect on the Earth’s climate as a whole.
I am old. I remember when this crap started back in the 1960s.
First it was “Earth is heading into a new ice age!” and little games for our science classes that predicted mass starvation and pollution.
That didn’t pan out so they changed it “Global Warming will melt the ice caps and drown our coasts!”
Than didn’t pan out either. So now the cry is “Global Anthropogenic Climate Disruption!” That way they don’t actually have to make testable predictions. They can claim that ANY bad weather is a global crisis.
The truth is Fear Sells. It allows con men pretending to be ‘scientists’ to get grant money, and governments to consolidate (more) power to themselves, and to distribute patronage to their supporters.

No one denies that the climate is changing either.
The climate has constantly changed throughout the history of the Earth, including the relatively tiny sliver of time in which there have been humans. Since the last ice age ended, over 12,000 years ago, the climate has been gradually warming. Hopefully it will continue to do so, but sooner or later Earth will move on to the next ice age.
There is serious disagreement, however, as to how the climate is currently changing, how quickly it is changing, whether humans have anything to do with current changes in climate, whether humans can do anything about the current changes in climate, and whether we should do anything about it if it is possible to do so.
Global warming is MAGIC, it can cause ANYTHING!
