This is I-29 border crossing North of Grand Forks, ND and South of Winnepeg.
In the late 1890s and early 1900s, the Canadians were importing a lot of horses from the US for westward expansion. With some regularity, a horse with glanders would get in and the entire herd had to be slaughtered.
A relative of mine ran the “New Era” livery stable in Winnipeg in 1902, caught glanders from his horses, and died.
The woman and family should thank their lucky stars that the Canadians didn’t cull her little herd.
So a Canadian, attempting to re-enter Canada, does not follow Canadian law and gets .... Canadian justice. Do I have that right?
Failing to see why I as an American should be concerned. Canada has it’s own laws regarding who can and who can not enter their borders. Just as we expect people to follow the US laws when they enter the US, other nation’s have to be respected when entering their country.
FWIW, the quarantine stuff is BS, but I think the family may also run afoul of the rules for who can and can’t cross the border.
The border isn’t open yet for most folks.

Canadians are, have been, and will be subjects of the crown. It is not their national character to throw off tyranny and establish themselves as free citizens.
Perhaps because tyranny doesn’t stay inside borders. Whatever success the tyrants have in other countries the left uses as a blue print here. Look no further than China and the current White House occupant.
