Personally, I would like to see DC and the surrounding areas exclusively on green energy. Let them do that for the next 5 years, then they can tell us how great it is.

Sorry, I usually don’t like to get involved in these debates but the failure of the Texas energy grid is due largely to failures in its fossil fuel plants. Natural gas plants aren’t working because of frozen valves and fuel lines, etc. Wind energy fell too, but not nearly as much. Wind production fell 1 gigawatt below the 6 gigawatts it was expected to produce, but natural gas fell 30 gigawatts below the 60 gigawatts it was expected to produce. Also, wind turbines work fine in North Dakota in subzero temperatures, the difference is they’re equipped to operate in those temperatures. The ones in Texas aren’t. If Texas had invested more in winterizing all their equipment; wind, solar, gas and coal, they wouldn’t be in the mess they are now. It’s much more a lack of planning and foresight than a failure of the technology.
So Texas installs windmills and solar panels that freeze up and don’t work in the subfreezing cold due to global warming because Texas isn’t producing as much carbon pollution?
I’ll throat punch anyone who says that to my face.
