Biden dismisses Uighur genocide as part of China’s ‘different norms’

President Biden is dismissing the genocide against the Uighur population in China, dubbing the mass internment a “different norm” — despite the State Department this month responding to “atrocities” in the camps, following reports of systemic rape and torture.

The commander-in-chief made the remarks after being asked during his CNN town hall Tuesday evening about his recent conversation with his Chinese counterpart, starting his response by relaying Xi’s justification for the abuses.

“If you know anything about Chinese history, it has always been, the time when China has been victimized by the outer world is when they haven’t been unified at home,” Biden began. “So the central — well, vastly overstated — the central principle of Xi Jinping is that there must be a united, tightly controlled China. And he uses his rationale for the things he does based on that.”

China, a nation that has faced a wave of international scrutiny over the past few years relating to its activities in dismantling democracy in Hong Kong and its refusal to accept responsibility for negligence and a lack of transparency at the onset of the coronavirus outbreak, has not let global tensions stop its mass internment of Uighurs in Xinjiang province.

“I point out to him no American president can be sustained as a president, if he doesn’t reflect the values of the United States,” the US president continued. “And so the idea is that I am not going to speak out against what he’s doing in Hong Kong, what he’s doing with the Uighurs in western mountains of China and Taiwan — trying to end the one China policy by making it forceful … [Xi] gets it.”

“Culturally there are different norms that each country and their leaders are expected to follow,” he continued.

The "just following orders" defense. [Xi] gets it, yes he does. That China's greatest international enemy has a weak leader. Only think missing is Joe claiming to have Uigur friends.

The “norms” in China, as shown in a recent BBC News exposé, include systemic torture and rape occurring in Uighur concentration camps.

But slavery was part of a different norm in 1776 and we’re being held accountable today!

So, whatever China wants to do and however they chose to do it is just fine with you, Huh, Joe?
Some “Leader of the Free World”!
Expect for Taiwan to fall very soon.
That would make Japan very nervous.

Joe will start rehashing old memories about his now deceased son as a sentimental distraction. The ‘reporters’ will let him get away with it too.

If everything is morally relative, then we need to apologize to the Nazis for slandering them as the bad guys.

Joseph Stolen has just failed to reflect the norms of America in any way, shape or form whatever.

Cut from the same clothes as fellow Democrat FDR back before WWII.

Germans, just culturally, had different norms from other countries and their leaders were expected to follow.

Truth is, the Democrats had sweet business deals with Nazi Germany, just like they have with China today. They didn’t want to upset the apple cart then, or now.

Money first. Humans second (or fifth, behind animals, scientific fantasies, economic voodoo, etc)

In many ways, the Communist Chinese regime is much more like the Third Reich of 1930’s Germany than it in any way resembles the former Soviet Union.

National Socialism was the epitome of “crony capitalism”, in which the State chose the winners which it backed, and most ruthlessly suppressed the “losers”, by stripping them of all forms of wealth and imprisoning them because they were “different”, and somehow not human.

Though the ruling faction in China calls itself “Communist”, there is a surprising amount of wealth accumulation, and the military is a part of that state-owned capitalism, funding and even operating many of the enterprises that engage in international trade. This international trade is also an excellent cover for the practice of spying, for military and industrial purposes.

And as soon as the Communist Chinese People’s Liberation Army can finally put a blue-water navy into the world’s seas, they mean to spread their hegemony not only to their neighboring countries, but to have a world-wide reach.

By any standard, that is imperialism. But they won’t be as nice as the American “imperialists”.
