A business owner in Chinatown in Oakland, California, was arrested after he allegedly used his gun to fire four shots attempting to save a woman.
FOX2 reports that the 36-year-old business owner allegedly fired the shots when he saw “a woman being robbed for her camera outside his store at 9th and Franklin streets.”

Blue America.
He is lucky he didn’t kill the robber.
Here’s the real message. Hey Asian people, don’t arm yourselves like those Rooftop Koreans. Just take your robberies like good little citizens. Black people gotta eat and you have more than we do.
Ah Breitbart-the pic. Far East Cafe. Ate there many times. It’s in SF.
Been Votin' Democrat too much Oakland?
hey Asians - you white now!
Well Mr. Armstrong, fortunately it isn't up to you. You may be comfortable with members of your community being relatively defenseless in the face of criminal acts including such things as assault, rape, murder... However, the US Constitution has a different take on it.
The title is a little misleading, making it sound like the shop owner just randomly fired 4 shots. In the article there's not a lot more but it does note that the shop owner came to the victim's aid - struggled with the criminal perpetrators, and that is when he fired 4 shots. That puts things in a whole different light.
In many areas, including where I live, you cannot use deadly force (eg. firing a weapon) merely to protect property. Only to prevent "grave harm" or death. Now, if you reasonably believe you are in danger of suffering grave harm or loss of life, game on. From the title it sounded like the shop owner screwed up - used his firearm to try to prevent property theft. (*) However with the details that there was a physical altercation then the firearm came into play, that's potentially very different. Then he may have very well feared for his life and well being. Of course his chances of dropped charges or acquittal in lefty-loony CA are not good.
(*) While I understand the thinking behind "is this property worth someone's life" I don't agree with it. No, the $50 in my pocket isn't worth someone's life. However, providing a significant "dis-incentive" for crime, ie. the potential of losing your life for a few bucks, is worth it. All too often a "simple" crime turns violent. I don't think victims of simple robbery should have to hope that the criminal(s) confronting them have their best interests in mind. I think we should be allowed to use deadly force to protect property. That way we're not giving up a tactical advantage "Oh, this is more than a simple robbery? Now I have to actively protect my life? Wait just a second there bud while I draw my firearm..." Yeah...no. If is is legal to use deadly force to protect property, and a criminal makes the decision to attempt a robbery anyway, then they assume that risk. If they get killed for a few bucks, that's on them, not the potential victim.
In my housing tract here in California there are two asian houses with BLM signs. They do not have a clue to the real world.
Whenever I see BLM signs at a residence I figure the homeowner just can’t spell “Fire Insurance” It won’t work
I’ve watched old Chinese men and women pull out $5,000 in hundreds to pay for their $89.43 grocery bill and the local Raleys in Sacramento.
It’s their culture to carry cash. And to show it. And they carry a lot of it.
Until now, most are not smart enough to also carry a 9mm. Or even a snub .38.
“...We would really prefer them to be good witnesses...” I think they meant DEAD WITNESSES.
We see it on the east side of the Sierra’s when they come into the local casinos.
“Of course his chances of dropped charges or acquittal in lefty-loony CA are not good. “
When I first arrived in Sacramento about 15years ago a story appeared in the Bee.
A man heard a ruckus outside after midnight, armed himself with a Ruger semi auto .22 and went outside (remaining on his property) to see what was going on.
3 thugs were stealing his wheels.
He approached to confront them and one came from the other side of the car with a tire iron so he opened fire. 2 dead and one in the hospital.
No charges filed. He kept his rifle.
In CA is is legal to CONFRONT somebody who is stealing from you and make an attempt to recover your property. If the perp(s) demonstrate aggression you can unload to protect yourself.
That’s the law.
However, some DAs charge anyway, even knowing the defender will be found not guilty.
Because the (expensive) process is the punishment.
See post 13. :-)
Reparations, donchaknow.
Wait...what?
Chinese didn't have african slaves?
Well, they value education, the traditional family, work hard and accept personal responsibility.
Close enough to being White.
