President Joe Biden, during Tuesday evening’s CNN town hall, provided a rough timeline on when he believes the United States may be able to return to a level of pre-pandemic normalcy, identifying “next Christmas” as a potential marker.
“When do you think this pandemic is — I mean, when are we — when is it going to be done? When are we going to get back to normal?” CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Biden, who explained that experts have warned him to refrain from making such predictions.

So I’m not sure why Biden is optimistic about Christmas for non-lockdown since it’s a higher risk time because of season-limited ICU beds.

Also, “sure...we’ll STILL have to wear TWO masks, wash our hands, social distance, not go out to bars, allow no more than 25 people to worship at a time, teach kids through iPads at home, play sports in empty stadiums, encourage take-out only for restaurants, and periodically lock everyone in their homes—but yes by golly, we’ll be back to our new NORMAL by next Christmas!”
