I’ll leave that up to your imagination.
The Harlem Globetrotters needed the Washington Generals.
Don’t blame Texas officials for this. I was in the Electricity Industry ten years ago when Luminant was slating its coal plants for closure. Even then, the CEO said he did not know a single energy executive that would think about constructing a new coal-fired plant in the U.S. due to the immense regulations out of Washington.
That the wind plants were allowed to effectively bid ‘free electricity’ because of their comparable low-cost and limited use is what allowed them to always operate when available, and they benefited from the growing demands of the electricity market. As they grew in scope, other plants like coal and NG were continuously moth-balled for the winter months when there is less electricity demand.
It is not easy to bring a moth-balled plant back online, and very difficult to do on a short-notice. Thus, when a weather event like this takes place, bad things happen.
Perhaps, Texas Officials can learn from this and place a percentage cap on how much electricity can be provided by wind and solar.
we need someone like Don Jr. as the RNC chairman. First order of business is to make all republicans to tow the party line or get the hell out!!!
Idiots can even back up President Trump about election fraud so we are going no where.
Bla bla bla bla
Lotta words
I will “unify” with any group or individual that will hold the same position a week from now; will not turn like a weather vane.
This eliminates 99% of Republicans.
The Republican Party, for me, has ceased to be “the only game in town.”
Eff ‘em.
You may not like my words, but like Trump, I will tell it like I see it.
This, like the Super Snow Bowl happens every so often.
My thoughts and prayers to all those people working like crazy to get our fossil fuel plants running.
We need more nuclear for base load.
Like trump?
No trump always tells the truth.
We don't, the only way it happens if your Senators and Reps are requested by their constituents to do it.
Truthful?
You think I am not telling the truth?
When were you in the electricity-generation business?
Have you ever been to an electricity-generation station?
Do you even have a clue what is there?
Go to DC and yell at them if this is who you think is to blame. Or get down here and help some single mother in a 32 degree apartment. Tel her to blame dc
This is a rollout oof stupidity. You’re part of it if you don’t stop this conversation by not responding.
“Yeah, all those worthless damned windmills are FROZEN IN PLACE and WILL NOT WORK with all that snow and ice clogging them up!!! Yeah, get rid of coal and oil.”
People I know in Texas tell me that many gas lines are also frozen because they put them above ground and didn’t insulate them because they thought they didn’t need to.
Silly little person....
Actually, it's how representative government works. I understand that quite a few House members appropriately represented their base by voting against Cheney.
Go ahead and request anything you like. Call Mitch’s office and see how far you get. LOL..
The one issue we might unify on is the stolen election. If the rhinos get on board with us in proving that, and taking the necessary steps to ensure it never happens again, we have a chance to go forward as a team.

The operative word in your post is “if”! And as the saying goes, if bullfrogs had wings they wouldn’t bump their arses!
When were you in the electricity-generation business?
Have you ever been to an electricity-generation station?

Sounds like you are knowledgeable about that business. I for one would appreciate any info about it you’d be willing to share. Thanks.
I have been out of the industry for a while, but see my post #23 and apply a little thought:
Many of the fossil fuel (i.e. Coal and NG) plants were effectively moth-balled for the winter last October - November time frame. Typically, they are not needed. Being moth-balled until next summer means that they were cleaned up and put away just like you might do to a boat. Some may have been scheduled for major repair work to be prepared for next summer.
Unlike a boat or a car, you cannot simply check the oil, kick the tires, and start it up. Those plants are steam generators, and the boilers are stone cold. The anti-freeze has to be extracted so the boilers can be safely-lit without polluting the lakes that supply water to the boilers. Those plants are massive, and the pipes from the lakes to the boilers are big enough to walk through upright.
I feel the anger of everybody here, but be thankful that you are sitting in a house under a blanket rather that being out there trying to do the nasty work of relighting those furnaces in this weather.
