One Washington state woman is dead and another faces murder charges in an incident involving a political sign.
It happened in Mount Vernon, Washington on Saturday night. The Skagit County Sheriff's Office was called to a home on Big Lake Road about 5:25 p.m. for a report of a fight.
A second call came in a few minutes later with a man reporting that his friend had been shot.
Deputies found a 32-year-old woman dead in the driveway when they arrived at the home. The couple that lives there came out and spoke to the deputies, according to a news release.
Investigators say the victim and shooter didn't know each other but they determined that the incident began over the theft of a political sign.
Police did not release information about the sign but other residents, reacting to the crime on a local message board, say the woman had a Trump sign in the yard and the victim tried to take it.
55-year-old Angela Marie Conijn was booked into the county jail on 2nd-degree murder charges. It was unclear if she had a lawyer who could speak on her behalf.
A 58-year-old man, who was reported to be Conijn's husband, was arrested on assault charges.
Police did not release the name of the victim. They said the investigation was ongoing.
Seriously?!?!?
If you think Murder is the appropriate response to a political yard sign theft, you are just as much of a part of the problem as the TDS crowd.
...unless, those online reports referred to in my last post, weren’t from actual neighbors but rather lefty instigators pretending to be neighbors, simply to stir crap up, as they regularly do. They were, after all, mere online forum reports, or claims. The people who submitted them could have been from anywhere and have had no idea, or concern, what the reality was.
You "Seriously?!?!?" need to learn to read more carefully, else you would have learned that the enraged lefty pair who had admitted pulling into the couple's driveway AND stealing the sign, were reportedly attempting to break the couple's door down using a wheelbarrow as a ram. This was after a physical confrontation of some kind whereby the homeowner/husband was sent to a hospital for. Obviously, more details are needed.
I saw the picture of the sign.
No I was being sarcastic.
Here are some more details from The Sun...
“John Conijn - according to the court files - exited the house when he saw someone pull into his driveway, as he thought they were trying to steal the political sign.
Conijn claimed he was “chased back to his residence” and that Cohee and the man were allegedly bashing his door with a wheelbarrow.
But the driver told cops he punched Conijn through the open window of their truck, reports King 5.
Cohee is believed to have then got out of the vehicle when Angela Conijn came out with a gun.
Clark added: “The 55-year-old wife came out of the house, fired several rounds and the female that got out of the truck... was struck and killed.”

Here is a good comment made at The Sun website. It followed the excerpt that I posted above from the Sun article...
“Hold on! Cohee wasn’t shot over a “yard sign”. She and her male accomplice pulled onto Conijn’s property, began letting air out of the tires of one of Conijn’s vehicle and steal a yard sign. On being confronted, Cohee and the male chased Conijn’s into house and attacked front door with a wheelbarrow! Hullo! Where is cited that Conijn’s were Trump supporters - which if true, so what?”

According to one account by the homeowner, Cohee and Tryon rammed the front door of his house with a wheelbarrow. If it were me that would indicate these thugs meant business and I would’ve taken appropriate action to end the threat.
