Trump urges ouster of ‘unsmiling political hack’ Mitch McConnell
New York Post ^ | FEBRUARY 16, 2021 | STEVEN NELSON

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday issued a blistering attack on the most powerful Republican in post-Trump Washington, calling Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell an “unsmiling political hack” who should be thrown out of office.

“The Republican Party can never again be respected or strong with political ‘leaders’ like Sen. Mitch McConnell at its helm,” Trump said in an emailed 626-word statement that all but declared political war on the Kentucky Republican.

“McConnell’s dedication to business as usual, status quo policies, together with his lack of political insight, wisdom, skill, and personality, has rapidly driven him from Majority Leader to Minority Leader, and it will only get worse,” Trump said.

“The Democrats and Chuck Schumer play McConnell like a fiddle—they’ve never had it so good—and they want to keep it that way! We know our America First agenda is a winner, not McConnell’s Beltway First agenda or Biden’s America Last.”

The statement comes one day after McConnell appeared to make an effort to patch up a GOP divide over Trump’s just-concluded impeachment trial for allegedly inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

McConnell told the Wall Street Journal, “I’m not assuming that, to the extent the former president wants to continue to be involved, he won’t be a constructive part of the process.”

On Saturday, McConnell voted to acquit Trump of “incitement of insurrection” but tore into him afterward in a Senate floor speech, saying Trump was “practically and morally responsible” for the violence that killed five. He called Trump’s claim to have actually defeated President Biden in the Nov. 3 election a “crescendo of conspiracy theories orchestrated by an outgoing president who seemed determined to either overturn the voters decision or else torch our institutions on the way out.”

Absolutely. I was thinking this exact same thing the last couple of days.

There are only 7 so-called Republicans in the Senate who would be a worse leader than McConnell. He is #8 and yet is still the leader of the conference.

If Trump is able to take down McConnell, the GOP will be changed substantially.

It will be an epic fight. McConnell has every institutional resource at his beck and call. And unlimited money available.

But there has to be a strong, viable candidate to run for his seat. And it’ll still be up to the people of Kentucky.

Trump made a big mistake endorsing Bush League Republicans like McCain, Romney, McConnell and Grahamnesty.
It only emboldened them.

Nope. “No recall provisions”, according to Ballotpedia. But it was interesting to see when I Googled it that as soon as I typed “Can Kentucky r...” it autofilled to “Can Kentucky recall a sitting senator?” lol

All of us can play their part in ensuring the demise of the Republicans. We all have the power of the purse at our disposal.
Think about where you shop.Don’t go to the big chain supermarkets even though they may be cheaper.Frequent the mom and pop stores. You may be surprised by your new experience. The same goes with what you purchase at the hardware or petrol stations. The DemocRATS can’t stop you,so do it.TODAY.

No recalls are possible for federal offices.

The US Constitution, which most of us say we respect, makes absolutely no provision for recall of federal officials. (Unsurprising, given when it was written,) So this is not a matter for state law, and any state government that tried to make it so would be shut down by SCOTUS..

Mr. McConnell was re-elected in November. Barring something that makes him resign, he will be there until January 2027.

Urge your Senators to get rid of him. Keep the pressure up.

I’m not so concerned with what happens to McConnell.

I’m much more concerned what will happen to Donald Trump.

McConnell all but announced that the establishment Repukes are perfectly okay with civilian prosecution and imprisonment, or worse, of Trump. Democrats will happily oblige.

I’m seriously wondering, when it happens, if this is a go-sign.

“He called him everything but a turtle!”

Aside from cartoon-like resemblance, McConnell’s nickname “The Turtle” may be a tell of sorts; symbols of the Fabian Society are a tortoise and a “wolf in sheep’s clothing”. Each in there way speak to the Fabian desire for a subtle but ultimate move to the left.
