Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse (R), who voted to convict former President Trump earlier this month in the Senate impeachment trial, warned that the Republican Party is in an internal battle between "conservatism and short-term-ism."
Sasse noted in an interview with NPR released Tuesday that “obviously there are a lot of people frustrated with me in Nebraska,” but he added that “a lot of them also have the six-and-a-half year history with me where they know that though I'm a very conservative guy, I'm pretty independent-minded."
"I don't think they're very surprised, but obviously there is a move at county and state levels across the country to have the Republican party focus, even more, on the personality of Donald Trump. And I don't think that's healthy,” he told the outlet.

Who wants to focus on Trump’s personality? There are a lot of us who want to focus on preserving his numerous conservative accomplishments though...and who don’t like to watch the non-stop political persecution of him from those who dislike him.

FEAR. Can you smell it? The Rinos are TRULY afraid of their voters. That’s why they are fine with calling the capitol protest an ‘insurrection’. It’s why they are fine with hiding behind barbed wire and thousands of troops now. They have now been exposed as the lying traitors they truly are and how they actually HATE their voters. I really dislike people like this. Zero evidence presented at two impeachment’s of Trump that was impeachment worthy. Never had a chance to call witnesses to defend himself in two Senate trials. You can’t defend voting against ANYONE that has hearsay and no chance to defend themselves. Doing so is NOT conservative, it’s left wing nut Fascism.
I wonder what he would say if the politically spied on him illegally using all the government resources, accused him of terrible things, and never did he have a chance to defend himself.
