The political give-and-take at the heart of a democracy can’t function under a threat of armed violence. The Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has warned our nation, like nothing that’s come before, that lawmakers at all levels are vulnerable to such threats.
The United States needs to act before elected officials become paralyzed by threats from a small minority of pro-gun absolutists. Editorials
For too long, threats of violence have been used to intimidate lawmakers who are trying to address gun violence. The Jan. 6 insurrection will only embolden those who make the threats.

I guess I am among the “small minority of gun absolutists” because I believe in the constitution as it was written. Even though I am in that “small minority” I am also a member of the “vast right wing conspiracy”. I can’t figure out whether I am in a “small” group or a “vast” group. Is there anyone on FR that can figure out the liberal logic that makes a small group a vast group?

The headline is mostly true, except for the "representative" part.
Unconsciously, they're admitting their real fear. Before, they would go to lengths to hide it behind things like "for the children".

Is there any chance that we can rename an “assault rifle” as a “Dominion voting machine”? Then the rifles would surely be left alone. No regulations or restrictions needed.
No matter what words they use, what they really mean is: “Take guns from those honest, non-violent people and let violent criminals (democrat-voters) keep them so they can take whatever they want from their ‘oppressors.’ “
That's easy. It's a small group when fascists pitch ideas that deprive the group of rights - described as small to engender safe feelings in the unwashed masses to get them to agree to the abrogation of rights. It's vast when these same fascists need to whip the unwshed masses into a frenzy of fear and/or loathing against the "small group".
Democrats are a bigger threat to representative government than assault weapons.
