A California police officer urged his city council on Thursday to sign a petition to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom because his administration represents the culmination of years of bad policy decisions that are hurting the state.
Adam Garcia, who has worked in law enforcement for nearly 20 years, cited failed policies that have made the state a "safe haven for criminals" and caused violence to skyrocket – problems that have been made worse by the pandemic and Newsom’s response to it.
Garcia downplayed the idea that the recall against Newsom is being driven by partisan politics, and is instead being driven by small business owners, and working people who Newsom’s administration has failed to help during the pandemic.
"Newsom’s job was to help us return to life as normal as possible, while safely maneuvering through COVID. And he just shut everybody down," Garcia said. "And so I think what you’re seeing right now is the totality of everything. Business owners have a different reason not to trust him. Schools have a different reason not to trust him. If you look at everybody throughout California, all have a different type of background that is leading to their decision to want him recalled."
That "movement," Garcia said, has less to do with being either Republican or Democrat, and more about people being able to live in safe communities and safe schools.
"I think it would be a good message to send to the rest of the country that’s so divided right now.

What has been done to San Francisco wholly immoral and amoral.
The place has been winnowed out.
You had over 200,000 people working in the Financial District this time last year.
Now, there might be 10,000.
That number is unsustainable for the businesses that depend on some 200K people going to the office.
Major restaurants, dry cleaners, drug stores, computer repair/support, coffee shops, cobblers, security companies and more have gone out of business.
Even if there was some magical clarion call that "California is Open for Business Again" how in the hell are they going to undo the fear and panic they have instilled in people?
That isn't possible. People have really bought into this whole pandemic BS and they really are scared to associate with others and even when passing on the street they fear being near a stranger and aver their eyes with their head down or even pulling their coat over their masked face.
It's ridiculous.
Further, if even some companies do come back to the financial district they might as well pack their own lunch since so many restaurants are gone as are entertainment venues which keep someone in the city after work.
And even further, the crime is Manhattan ala 1980's off the hook.
And, And, And even further the homeless are now everywhere. Tent cities, poop, urine, needles.
It's scary and dangerous to be in the Financial District.
I have never seen so many crazies screaming at the sky before but, they are literally everywhere.
So, what woman would walk the streets in the current conditions? A crazy one who has lost her mind and good sense to stay out dangerous areas.
The conventions are all cancelled for years. There are businesses that depend on them as well but hey, Moscone Center was never meant to be used to enhance city revenue and promote tourism.
Speaking of tourism, there is so little of it the criminals are now going into the neighborhoods and brazenly breaking in while people are home.
And if a tourist does come to town every single venue is closed. I wouldn't visit some place and not see The Legion of Honor, The Palace of Arts, the Zoo, The Exploratorium, restaurants at Pier 39. I mean you can still eat at Alioto's outside but, it's pretty cold and windy this time of year and average temperature is 62 degrees. Uncomfortable.
Even after this nonsense is ended there are going to be more businesses that just couldn't make it and will be gone. This going to on for years and probably take more than a decade to rebuild.
Rebuild? The place should be growing, not rebuilding from dropping bombs all over the city
(He is Killing it)
Dont doctor the story line with your 2 cents
And if they manage to recall him, is there someone sane to replace him?
He had the willing participation of the DemoNazi state assembly.
State constitutions need to be amended to put time limits on lockdowns.
State constitutions also need to be amended to make state health and environmental protection officials elected by popular vote.
Constitutionally time-limited lockdowns need to automatically trigger special recall elections for governors, mayors and disaster officials who order lockdowns, also state lawmakers.
Finally, constitutions need to require people planning to run for state and local offices to escrow a refundable "recall deposit" before becoming a candidate, the deposit fully paying in advance for their possible recall elections if they are elected, amounts determined by law.
Also, either recall Newsom web site below is OK. Mailing address on downloadable forms.
Recall Newsom form (already 70% 80% 100%+ and pushing for 2,000,000 signatures, deadline March 10 (or March 17?))
LOL
I keep forgetting to put the link on my nuisance posts.
Thnx
Yeah, sure..
Whatever you say...
Not
This is absolutely true. People outside California have no idea of the rage here at Newsom.
No matter how one comes down on the severity of Covid 19, Newsome should have given everyone 7-10 days to stock up for a complete 2 week shutdown, emergency personnel excepted. Nip it in the bud. But he, being a politician, tried to ride the fence without offending too many people and the result has been to delay herd immunity and exacerbate the problems.
“And if they manage to recall him, is there someone sane to replace him?”
Well, she isn’t exactly “sane”, but that’s normal in California...I vote his ex-wife
The normally placid and cheery checkout woman at a local restaurant literally went off on a tirade (”I hate that man!”) the other day, I was actually shocked...took her for another beach bolshevik...he’s really reached across the political spectrum to find truly visceral anger
