Tucker Carlson Suggests Democrats Have Become ‘More Vicious in Victory’ — ‘Power Makes Them Mean’

Thursday, FNC “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host Tucker Carlson speculated on the motivations driving congressional Democrats to pursue the impeachment of former President Donald Trump, which he described as “mad” and “irrational.”

Carlson noted that even in victory, Democrats are continuing their relentless pursuit, which he argued was a product of gaining power.

He also questioned why some in the media are seeking to quell dissenting opinion, including Fox News.

Transcript as follows:

CARLSON: So why are the Democrats so angry? We’ve asked that question a number of times, it doesn’t seem to make any sense truly.

In November, the Democratic Party won everything: full control of the Federal government. They ceded for years while they were out of power that made sense but winning seemed to enrage them even more.

Did you watch Democrats on television today at the impeachment hearings? They are crazy person mad, florid faced, irrational, yelling and making threats. It is bizarre.

You’d think they’d get to work fixing the country they inherited, they promised to do that. Instead, they set about breaking things and hurting people. What is going on here? Well, maybe it is intrinsic.

There’s a certain sort of low-character person who becomes more vicious in victory. Power makes them mean. The Ottomans destroyed the cities they captured, there was never a good reason to do this, to kill people who had already been captured and who had surrendered. The Ottomans did it because they enjoyed it.

Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi have a little bit of that in them, it looks like. Imagine being Adam Schiff’s landscaper or Nancy Pelosi’s housekeeper or anyone at their command? Imagine how they treat the staff when no one is watching. Imagine waiting on them in a restaurant.

Some of their voters - who didn't even win anything themselves - are still feeling empty, and so they're now going after working-class/middle-class people to feel better about themselves. It's actually really sad.

IMHO, the optics of the impeachment acquittal makes it likely that many
casual observers will conclude that Trump was cheated out of his reelection bid.

Democrats’ foolish insistence on focusing on the “reason” for Jan 6 helps reinforce opinion
that Trump won but Democrats’ cheated to deny him office.......and a lot of people were upset about it.

America knows they stole the election and now hunkers down to weather their socialist “storm.” They are becoming reviled and detested across the nation ofter Joes plethora of executive orders.

Their fear is so great that they keep the Capital wrapped in 12 foot fences and concertina wire, manned by 6200 National Guardsmen.

They think they can bluster their way through their shredding of our Constitution. And cow the population with their cancel culture.

This will not ebd well for them and they know it.

Perhaps we should rethink that view. Tucker Carlson has more cogent views expressed than any serving elected official I hear now.

Without his voice, we don't have a coherent, compelling spokesman at this time apart from reports rendered by the likes of AP.

We ought to recognize the difference between his Largely independently run program and that part of the news division that accurately if prematurely called Arizona.

It is perhaps likely but I cannot assume that that premature call was rigged. What proof do you have?

Just my 2 cents. Read in a post a while back that Tucker, Hannity etc. cannot get employment as a political announcer/commentator for six months after they leave Fox. IMO I would rather have him out there talking the way he does, than not have that voice at all.

Democrats have always been “mean”. What is different today then in years past is that they appear to hold all the power within our nation (both houses of Congress and the white house) along with most of the media and entertainment industry and don’t forget the education industry.

They won it all after years of hiding behind the “nice” face, and now they feel they no longer need to be nice.

Think Rosy O’Donnel who branded her self as the “Queen of Nice” and then when her mask dropped the world seen just how mean she could be.

There is hope for our nation now that they have removed the mask and begin governing the way they always wanted (think California only Nationally) that hope is the fact they will not able to please all their base.

Republicans will not be able to beat the Democrats (on their own), it will disillusioned Democrats that will do it.

The Democrat party is not a monolith of one set of ideas and goals. It is a coalition of minority groups all with their own ideas and goals (and often the goals between the groups are 180 degree opposite of another group).

As long as the Democrats were “out of power” they could ignore the various groups (throwing crumbs here and there) but never giving any one group all they want.

It is impossible to please all who voted for Democrats and that disappointment will turn to resentment then resistance.

The next two years is going to prove very interesting.

It was used a lot in the darker novels of Shelly, Lord Byron, and others who were early writers of the horror short story and other novels.
