Mitch McConnell Backstabs Trump Moments After Voting to Acquit, Wants Criminal Investigation Against Former President
National File ^ | 02/13/2021 | Tom Pappert

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who allegedly used the threat of a Senate conviction to blackmail President Donald Trump during his final days in office, seemed to call for a criminal trial against the former President only moments after voting to acquit him.

“January 6th was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government,” said McConnell, before claiming that President Trump inspired his supporters to use “terrorism” “to try to stop a specific piece of domestic business they did not like.”

They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the vice president,” said McConnell, without providing evidence. “They did this because they had been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth. Because he was angry. He had lost an election.”

McConnell then declared that, despite his vote suggesting otherwise, he believes that President Trump is “practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day, no questions about it.”

“The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president. And having that belief was a foreseeable consequence of the growing crescendo of false statements, conspiracy theories, and reckless hyperbole which the defeated president kept shouting into the largest megaphone on planet Earth.”

“President Trump is still liable for everything he did while he’s in office,” said McConnell, seemingly pushing for a criminal investigation against the former President. “He didn’t get away with anything yet.”

Tucker Carlson seemingly accused McConnell of engaging in blackmail during the final days of President Trump’s first term in office. According to Carlson, McConnell told President Trump that he would order his cronies in the Senate to convict the former President should he pardon Julian Assange.

National File was not able to find an example of McConnell denying this claim.

McConnell has fought tooth and nail to defeat a number of solid conservative Tea Party candidates over the years. He is owned by the Chamber of Corruption and other lobbyists and probably feels more loyalty to the Chicoms than the U.S.

They don’t come more corrupt than McConnell.

The opposite, actually. China Mitch is confident the GOP base will continue to vote for whatever human debris he puts on their general election ballots.

Mitch needs to step down from his leadership position.

I begin to wonder about his health.

This is outside the realm of sane action on his part.

Trump has been under a microscope for the last five years.

Mitch, don’t you think they would have charged him if there
was anything to charge him with?

Boy, this is “out there” even for Mitch.

PDJT did not lose in 2020.

The January 6 protest was not against a legitmate regime.

Mitch McComical’s true colors come out. He is part of the DC Swamp Trump tried to drain but lost that battle. The Swamp doesn’t care if you have a D or R after your name as long as you support the swamp maintaining its power.

What a douchebag. DNC-fueled Antifa-BLM thugs repeatedly threatened The Turtle, his wife, and his home, yet he turns on the person leading the opposition to the lawlessness. And who were the criminals who actually breached the Capitol, dressed in black clothes, black helmets, and wielded smashing tools, crowbars, and shields? Hint: They weren’t Trump supporters.

““January 6th was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government,” said McConnell”

It still hasn’t crossed their mind that DC is hated by a broad swath of the American people, or to ask why. They are doubling down on their globalism and tyranny and abuse of the American people.

FAFO Mitch.

I'd like to differ with many people here on FR. Consider that a criminal trial of DJT would require far more investigation into concrete evidence than was shown at the "impeachment" hearing. Further, any criminal action would have to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Trump actually intended to incite the insurrection.

Then there is the question of whether Trump was telling lies about the election...which would require the DoJ to actually look into the election itself.

I doubt that the Democrats and the Deep State want this. So it could be that there is some actual political chess playing going on.

So not pardoning Julian Assange was a huge mistake, as we said at the time.

RE: ““January 6th was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government,” said McConnell”

Next question Mitch — WHICH American Citizens, and Did Trump incite them to attack?

By your impeachment trial vote after hearing his defense, you in effect said “No”. Now, in less than a day, you contradict yourself and say it’s a “Yes” and want to prosecute him further?

You’re a two-faced man without principle.
