Megan McCain, co-host of The View and daughter of the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), said her father “despised” Lincoln Project cofounders Steve Schmidt and John Weaver.
McCain shared her remarks via Twitter, hours after Schmidt resigned from his seat on the Lincoln Project’s board of directors.
“I’ve been very hesitant to comment but since my deceased father keeps getting invoked I will say this: John Weaver and Steve Schmidt were so despised by my Dad he made it a point to ban them from his funeral,” McCain tweeted. “Since 2008, no McCain would have spit on them if they were on fire.”

Yes. Both Schmidt and Nicole Wallace leaked unflattering comments about Palin. Palin was giving McCain a boost in the polls so they sabotaged the campaign by smearing her.
It’s hardly a coincidence than there was a financial crisis in 2008 and a Covid pandemic in 2020 that was useful to getting Democrats in office. Both crisis’ were manufactured by the left. It was Hillary’s bad fortune that there couldn’t be a crisis in 2016 on Obama’s watch.

I’m sure McCain, always the one to blame others for his failures, blamed everyone who worked on his train wreck of a campaign.
How convenient. Without corroborating evidence I’m skeptical.
Weaver was a “senior adviser” to McCain for ten years. Long before this time, Karl Rove stated he knew of Weaver’s harassment of young men and it was widely known in DC. Yet somehow this got by the engineer of the “Straight Talk Express”? I doubt it; his daughter Meghan’s defense sounds more like Shakespeare: “the woman doth protest too much”. So now, the old phony “hated” his top aides yet he continued to employ them?
I think he despised a lot of people.
