Maybe you were struck as I was when U.S. House impeachment manager Congressman David Cicilline constantly referred to the Capitol riot as an “armed” attack in Wednesday’s hearing. I had been looking into this very thing myself. What arms had been used and found on the rioters at the Capitol?
Cicilline referred multiple times in his argument, now on record and taken as gospel, that “an armed, angry mob,” “an armed insurrection against the United States government,” “an armed, angry, and dangerous crowd,” and a mob conducting “armed violence against the government of the United States of America.”
Some angry people, live-streamers, and bizarre looking performance artists either forced their way or were escorted into the Capitol on January 6th.
But were the rioters armed? Some had been carrying flag poles. But would Cicilline be referring to those people as “armed”? Doubtful. The congressman meant to leave the impression that gun-toting “white nationalists” stormed the Capitol, as he called them Thursday. He offered no explanations for the black, Hispanic, and copious Asians who were at the Capitol that day and who stormed the Capitol.
Considering the circumstances, one might think someone might have seen guns on one of the myriad live streams or perhaps used one of the weapons, but nothing but brute force – bad enough – was the rioters’ “weapon” of choice.
As a watcher of antifa and BLM rioters, I am particularly interested in their weaponry, which includes anything from rocks and flagstaffs to flame throwers and blinding lasers.

The feds, who are taking point on the prosecutions, never mention weapons in their charges related to the riot.
They must claim the “mob” was armed to further their gun grabbing efforts.
The American Reichstag fire is yielding many rewards to the left.
Democrats asserted there were guns, that makes the charges serious even though clearly false.
Also, what’s an insurrection without lethal weapons?!
RE: Democrats asserted there were guns, that makes the charges serious even though clearly false.
There were hundreds of thousands in DC on that day. Imagine what would have happened if just 10% of those who went there brought guns?
Right to free speech
Right to freely assemble
Right to petition their government for redress of grievances
Right to keep and bear arms
Although I don’t consider that crowd to have been bearing arms, I think it’s interesting that the Democrats seem to have a big problem with all of the above.
well, there was one group of people at the Capital that day who were armed with firearms - the Capital police and other LE called to help.
No shots were fired except from the one Capital Hill cop who shot an unarmed woman trying to squeeze through a small window......
I read one account arguing pepper spray was a “deadly weapon”.
Probably nothing would change.
AntiFa or whatever bunch the Democrats used would still have participated in a staged invasion of the Capitol Building complete with prearranged photoops and likewise they would have still broken those windows etc.
And the “we have double standards because without them we’d have no standards” Democrats would still be talking as if a revolt happened rather than say the demonstration was mostly peaceful as they’ve spouted for the last year.
Democrats Lie about everything and demand you believe them , LOL
They say “armed” then they splice in the rallies in MI and elsewhere, they are phony liars.
The only person killed at the Capitol was Ashli Babbitt. She was shot by an armed someone (he hasn’t been identified more than a month after the shooting) who is presumed to be law enforcement. Four others died from heart attacks, a stroke and possibly, not yet proven blunt-force trauma.
But this doesn’t fit the narrative of an “insurrection”.
That granny was armed.
With a small American flag.
She scared the heck outta Deep State.
The people with guns turned back due to the metal detectors on the perimeter, so the guns were either in cars while the people protested, or the (lucky) people were driving back home, not wanting to risk losing them in a break-in.
Also, as others have noted, if it was such a ‘insurrection’, why did everyone leave the Capitol on their own after an hour?
The crowd had arms.
Like in The right to Bare Arms.
“Like in The right to Bare Arms.”
Americans are indoctrinated and emotional. The presence of weapons is triggering to them.
As with everything else, “armed” means whatever the liberals say it means. Since people are threatened by such things as American Flags and presence of police officers, then “weapons” can be whatever snowflakes think they are.
Just sayin’... this is a losing debate for our side as to trying to say that “armed” is about guns.
Only time to listen to a democrats is when it’s a slow day and you want to see how many lies they can in a hour the list is unlimited.
“..what’s an insurrection without lethal weapons?!“
Precisely!
If this were an organized insurrection, and that group of HALF A MILLION people had brought arms, Plugs Biden sure wouldn’t be living in the White House basement today.
