And that’s why every police car should be equipped with a dash cam and every police officer should be wearing a body cam in all interactions with the public. Protects the cops, protects the people they interact with.

That only works if the video is available unedited to the public on demand.
In many jurisdictions that is not the case.

Cameras are good and bad (like most things). Cops used to be able to deal with “frequent law enforcement consumers” and aggressive drunks in a much firmer matter. Now everybody wants to file a lawsuit.
