US intelligence on the supposed origin of the coronavirus pandemic was not reliable, a member of the special WHO mission to China said Wednesday, after Washington cast doubt on the transparency of the probe.
Peter Daszak, a member of the WHO team, waded directly into the murky geopolitics which covers the pandemic origin story.
President Joe Biden "has to look tough on China", he said in a tweet adding: "Please don't rely too much on US intel: increasingly disengaged under Trump & frankly wrong on many aspects."
Daszak also tweeted that they worked "flat out under the most politically charged environment possible".
Daszak heads US-based non-profit EcoHealth Alliance, which monitors epidemic outbreaks and has partnered for more than a decade with the Wuhan Institute of Virology on joint research of coronaviruses.
He has been one of the most vocal proponents of a natural origin and in comments to AFP last year dismissed the possibility of a leak from the Wuhan lab as a politically motivated "conspiracy theory" pushed by Trump.
Last year, the Trump administration abruptly terminated a US government grant supporting the group’s joint research with the Wuhan facility, a move the scientific community criticized as political.

I hope I’m wrong, but this is the beginning of a campaign by China to switch the blame for Covid from them to the USA.
With Biden bought and paid for, he will be in no position to do anything to stop it....
I would not be be surprised to see these types of stories in the USA media over the next few months and by the end of 2021 the USA will be solely responsible for Covid and should pay reparations to the rest of the world to pay for our sins...

So, the WHO decided it was “impartial” to have a Member of the Team that has been involved, via his “non-profit”, for years with the alleged source of the virus AND then concludes that the alleged source is NOT the source.
Said Team Member is also butt-hurt because the Orange Man stopped his funding.

Not buying deliberate release. If they had done it on purpose they would have released it in some other country to deflect blame. Most likely accidental release.
And would they be wrong?
We (think we) know Fauci funded ‘gain of function’ experiments in Wuhan.
Was it certain US agents with their Wuhan conspirators?
Fauci paid for the gain of function?
That is how it was weaponized.
You make a valid point, The only reason I can think of why this hasn’t been used before is China doesn’t want to admit to conducting research into the very virus that caused Covid regardless of who funded it, because that would make them at least partially guilty
Daszak and Fauci are primarily responsible for this virus.
Fauci was performing gain of function research in the NIH,he was told to stop it,it was to dangerous,he didn’t but eventually went to New York and partnered with Mr. Daszak to go to the Wuhan lab in China with 3.7 million dollars to continue the Gain of Function research on bat viruses.
So was it China or the U.S. that is responsible for this genetically engineered virus? YES Fauci and Daszak are the Dr. Frankensteins that foisted this on the world
I think the research would have gone on regardless but the fact that Fauci funded it makes Fauci at least partially responsible for Covid....
And to the extent the virus escaped from the lab, then yes China is responsible for a large part of the virus
Their research into this virus is already well documented.
