Schumer and Ocasio-Cortez announce funds for families who lost a loved one during Covid but couldn't afford funeral

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez teamed up in New York Monday to introduce $2 billion in special FEMA funds for families who have not been able to afford proper funerals for their loved ones who passed away as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The New York Democrats announced that families can get reimbursed up to $7,000 for funeral expenses, with $260 million of those funds to be directly allocated to New Yorkers. Eligibility for the funds will be retroactive through the beginning of the pandemic, January 20, 2020, to December 31, 2020, and Schumer says he and Ocasio-Cortez are working to keep the program in place for the rest of the pandemic.

This funding is strictly targeted to families who have lost a loved one as the result of Covid-19. Those applying for the funding will need to provide various forms of documentation such as the receipts and invoices that need reimbursement from funeral costs and the death certificate.

Trillions of dollars. Don't forget the Democrats are able to bail out their public unions pension plans which were on the brink of collapse!

I pay a lot of dough monthly for insurance. I have a will I made out my will when I was about 30 years old and have updated it. Costs like 2grand. I have a cemetery plot

These two communists would take more money from me to pay for the same for people who choose to not be responsible. They wonder why the vast majority want trump in charge.
It’s theft

I suspect we’ll soon learn that Ilhan Omar had thousands of close relatives who died of the covids without a proper burial.

"Schumer and Ocasio-Cortez announce funds for families who lost a loved one during Covid but couldn't afford funeral"
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

The referenced issue is a state power issue, not based on the very limited powers that the states have expressly constitutionally given the feds.

”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.

The problem is, since the feds are continually stealing people’s wallets with unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that the very corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification feds cannot justify under Congress’s constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, people have to struggle with things like paying for funerals.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

So we need to throw Section 3 of the 14th Amendment at both Schumer and AOC since they are promoting federal government actions based on constitutionally nonexistent federal government powers imo.

"14th Amendment, Section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same [emphasis added], or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."

Insights welcome.
