The Left’s “war on the rich” is really a “war on those who would like to become affluent”.

The old-money rich does NOT like competition.

“Already since 1/20/2021: gas prices around here are up about $.40/gallon. I expect a new gas tax to add another $1.00 or more/gallon. I only drive to and from work, as it is. Then groceries: I suspect due to gas prices .... eggs are up $.58/dozen; produce seems to be all over the place. I have tried to just buy what I need and not fret about the price increases, but it is hard to ignore, especially when we know this is just the beginning. If they put in $15/hour minimum wage, I won’t be able to buy anything extra, anyway. I suppose they will succeed at keepigng the number of billionaires steady, at least.”

Here in N. Californicator land, where we buy gas went up 25 cents a gallon New Year’s day. It went up another 15 cents a gallon on 1/20. That was a total increase of 15+%.

My wife keeps track of the weekly prices at the local store where we buy groceries with basically the same purchases every week. Prices are now 15-20% more for basically the same items. Versus the first of the year.

So we are back to some old basics: If a non-perishable item at that store or on line has a sale price better than current buys at this store or Walmart. We are buying those items. This past week we bought about a six month of chicken and beef stock at a good price and 6 month dating. We did the same re baked beans and diced tomatoes in cans.

Our depression era Mothers taught us how to do this.

They are the rich. They are calling upper middle class rich and telling the rest that they are not rich. It doesn’t matter who the rich actually are, because “the rich “ is an artificial enemy, like “the great satan” is to Iran, as the Bourgeoisie is to communism. It is a method of social control where you focus the population on an external enemy, difficult to define, and whose defeat can be imagined even though almost never achieved.

Yes, I know what you mean. We go big on loss leaders, chicken on sale, canned veggies on sale. Anything we ALWAYS use, if it’s on a good sale, I’m getting at least a couple. We occasionally shop at a 2nd grocery store, just for their loss leaders, and do go to Walmart for paper products, because our grocery sees them as a huge profit-for-them, convenience-for-us category. So we get 96 mega rolls of TP at a time at Walmart.

Getting rid of the middle class and law abiding citizens’ guns are required to make the Republic into a one party socialist democratic state.

“Fine. Go to bat for he rich. Most of them are leftists. Is an attack on the rich an attack on us? Let them be eaten and I’ll fight when they come for me.”

I’m with you. The parties have flipped when it comes to the middle and upper classes. I’m fine SCREWING THE RICH, even thought I know it’s not good overall...but what thanks do we get from it? Not much. Example: 19 of the top 20 wealthiest Congressional Districts are represented by DEMOCRATS now.

Let them argue with the Junta running this country.

They will target those who are not in their “Expert Class”.
Only question I have is will there be a face off between Klas Schwab’s euro trash or the CCP panda huggers and who will win?

The Left isn’t at war with the rich - yet. That comes later, once the middle class has been reduced to manageable levels. That’s when the lackadaisical rich who haven’t already departed will have a brief window of opportunity to run (leaving their assets behind). Once America’s bourgeoisie is no longer a force to bind the social extremes together, Marxism’s eradication of ‘useful idiots’ will proceed the submission of the rights of individuals to the collectivist State.

Old African saying:...

Their flight places heavier burdens on those who can’t afford to leave: the middle class in blue states

An old saying among climbing bums. (???) There is a leisure class at both ends of the social scale.

Wow. When I last lived in NJ, I paid twice as much as Springsteen, on a half acre lot, in a house built in 1929.
It was a working-class neighborhood, with people that had more class than that faker.

“Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.”
― George Orwell, 1984

The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”
― George Orwell, 1984

Orwell is wonderfully perceptive. I cant say I disagree with anything you say on this one. The left is mad about power and the Republican elite just wants money and are feckless. The GOP elite is more harmless than the other side but both are dangerous. Fecklessness is safer but it won’t win the war ore preserve our way of life.

That is the hard socialist and Marxist line. They are not running the Democrats they are useful idiots for wealthy lib elites. Just like we conservatives are useful idiots for country club GOP scum. We are living in a post communist world except for a few hold outs who do not understand what is going on. The left is now the establishment rich and the only people they are redistributing the wealth from is you and me. We need to have a new understanding of what is going on.
