The left attacks Dolly Parton for her Super Bowl ad promoting small business

How is this for obnoxious?

Leftists, one after another, have put a target on country music legend Dolly Parton's back. Her crime against political correctness? Making a Super Bowl ad for Squarespace, an inexpensive website-creating framework for small and start-up businesses.

"As much as we all love Dolly Parton, it's still disappointing to hear her literally sing the praises of 'working, working, working,'" thundered a columnist printed at NBC News.

'One job is no longer enough to survive': Dolly Parton's Super Bowl ad glosses over the reality for millions of gig workers, critics say, read the headline at MarketWatch.

A Newsweek columnist began like this:

Amid stagnant wages, dwindling retirement savings, skyrocketing health insurance bills, and ever-higher rents, Big Business finally has a way to fix the Dickensian economy.

No, it isn't higher wages, Medicare for All, the promised $2,000 check, or even a whittled-down $1,000 check. Instead, this Super Bowl Sunday, the nation will be told that the long-sought answer is the Great American Side Hustle — the mythical 1099 talisman that will supposedly liberate us from the economic hardship of the low-paying day job.

“Obnoxious?” Try telling. The left hates capitalism and free enterprise. This is proof.

Ignore them, Dolly.
They fear the power of personal ambition, are rotted hollow with class envy and know not what they do.

It took me a while to figure out that the Left hates small business. But they do...they really do.

They hate it not just because nearly all small businessmen and women are conservative, they also hate it because it is racist (i.e., favors merit over equality), is hard to unionize and, hence, to control, and, most of all, because it offers the freedom that independence and wealth can bring.

They probably also hate it because folks who work for themselves are happy.

Big Business, including Big Tech, hate small business because small businesses grow up to become competitors. And big organizations hate--really despise--competition.

Well cant they all just learn to code, install solar panels or do something or other with land mines. I guess that last one might possibly be a temporary gig.

What a moron. Dolly has now insulted conservatives AND liberals.

Why can’t she just shut up and stay away from political hot button issues?

The eaters who can’t even imagine doing something of value really hate the producers and makers who do add value to the world.

Massive insanity. The Super Bowl is no longer just a game. It’s a major Morality Play, in which insane people search for evidence of all the evils of the USA that they hate so much.

It’s just a game! But those who hate this country see it as a sign of the irredeemable racism of this country. In spite of the fact that the game is a living billboard for BLM, and that almost all of the ads tell Whitey that he’s an evil racist.

It’s just a game, and I will watch even less of it next year.

This was in 0bama’s time. Now it’s Biden’s turn to finish it.

The extremely popular deli in my building went under because of the lockdown. Oddly, all the fast food chains are doing fine.

The left— in particular the vile satanic Jack Dorsey— he of twitter and, lest we forget “Square” payments system which incorporates website design interlink and mobile credit card sliders/merchant services- competes with :H

Major Bank merchant Services, the card interface machines all see in stores etc.

PayPal (which is just short of a bank itself)— the percentage transaction fees Square matches or is just under.

J.P. Morgan/Chase has gotten into the merchant mobile biz transaction handler against Square and Paypal— so this is a huge player.

G888gle money, g8888ble pay... etc. etc.— damn crap is everywhere and datamining everyone. Hell with them.

Now enters Squarespace... and they are hammered by LEFTISTS (oh no we are not capitalist— bullcrap!) how have scale to try and shut them out. While the Square’s of the world continue to rip us off, financially, politically and a whole lot else with monopolistic practices.

How long before dorsey tries to pull some crap on their name?

Dolly! Keep it up! What a savvy business woman with a heart of real gold— ask the fire victims of Pigeon Forge and the Valley.

Anti small business campaign may very well backfire. I have several friends whose politics are on the left of mine (Not full blown radical) who have thriving small businesses. One thing they know is that a one size fits all business model does not work.

It’s not just that they hate small business, it’s that they know they can do whatever they want in the way of regulation and all these businesses are too small to do anything about it.

That’s why they hate Donald Trump, because he unfettered and championed small businesses.

Reward for personal initiative is held in low regard by many of the globalists, because those who choose to pursue a “side hustle” which becomes a full-time self-employment confuses the picture of conformist workers in a monolithic employer workplace. Such non-conformity leads people through the morass of having a lot of other independent opinions, and are hard to quantify for central planning purposes.

This in turn leads to critical thinking that tends to destroy the rationale for command-and-control regimes, and such a threat is untenable for them
