Facebook’s growth stalls in the US and Canada

Constant censorship on Facebook seems to be having a major effect as Facebook is losing Daily Active Users in the US and Canada.
Towards the end of January, Facebook released its annual performance update report. The report showed that Facebook’s main platform added 299 million active users in 2020, which is not surprising considering the pandemic forced people to stay home.
However, a closer look at the data reveals that the social media giant lost Daily Active Users (DAU) in the US. Overall, Facebook added 5 million DAU on 2019 but it lost daily actives in the US throughout the year.

Could that be a sign of Zuckerberg’s social empire decline?
North America was Facebook’s first market, meaning it points to what could happen in other regions.
The decline might not have a significant impact on Facebook’s revenue, at least in the near future. However, at some point, the social media platform will reach a peak and stop growing. That peak point is approaching faster than expected.
But why are Facebook’s numbers beginning to stall? One possible reason could be recent controversies and censorship.

In the US, all conservatives and President Trump's 75 million voters are going to need to cancel Facebook, Twitter etc.
However, given that most of Facebook's future growth is going to have to come from the vast populations of Asia and Africa, we must do everything we can to actively campaign to get Facebook banned in as many Asian and African countries as we can. Uganda's recent ban on Twitter was a good start, as well as Burma's hammering of Facebook and Twitter. But then these were temporary bans and not sweeping enough.
We need to campaign for sweeping, total, bans on all the big US social media companies in the African Union countries as well as India, Indonesia, the Philippines etc.
If we are lucky, Facebook and Twitter will interfere the elections of these countries, which will invite them bringing down the hammer on these evil US Big Tech companies.

Facebook keeps an account active for 30 days after deletion. The real drop will not appear until the first quarter report of 2021.

If those countries are stupid enough to allow Fascistbook and Twit-Er to be used there, so be it. That ISP in Idaho had the right idea: simply ban those commie idiots unless a customer specifically wants access. That way, the statement against Rollerball fascism can be made, while still allowing people freedom of choice.
These developing countries should do things the same way.

Technically my account is still open.
Status: Divorced from Facebook.
No posts. No content.
I was active yesterday.
FB decided to post some stuff to my wall - so I reported it all as spam and blocked the senders.
I suppose I need to formally delete the account, but I am checking that I have deleted all content and activity first.

This is why High Tech is pushing Globalist thinking.
Its the only way they can increase their stock price.
We talked about it constantly when I was at Intel.

And regardless, the data is suspect.

I suppose I need to formally delete the account, but I am checking that I have deleted all content and activity first. You can't EVER delete your content and activity. It belongs to FB instead of you. As the Eagles sang:

Facebook is a perfect example of socialism: You get it for free but the quality sucks. You have no say in how it works. The guy who runs it gets rich. There's no real competition. You have no privacy. And if you say one thing they don't like they'll shut you up. |

Another reason for FB’s user drop off is that they changed their format late last year. The new format sucks bug time. Can’t easily follow groups you used to follow. Can’t find anything. You try to look at latest posts on a group you follow and you only see old stuff from months and even years ago. You can’t easily sort, or can’t sort at all. It’s really terrible. On top of that, FB keeps trying to force you to use only their approved browsers. Phooey!

India, Indonesia, the Philippines etc.

Like that will ever happen. Although Facebook pissed off Duterte when it shut down thousands of pro-Duterte groups and individuals posting from Communist China.

I dropped Facebook back in 2017. Don’t miss it a bit. Its better to connect with real people and reduce your online time. Easier said then done in the Covid era, but worth the effort...

Duterte is exactly the kind of guy that can and probably will shut down Facebook and Twitter. He is a tough guy and he's done much tougher things than that.
All he needs is for FB/Twitter to attempt to interfere in the next elections in the Philippines like they did in the US.
After Facebook and Twitter banned President Trump all bets are off. Every single head of state or head of government is thinking, “Hey, these long haired hippies from California (Jack Dorsey) may try and do the same thing to me. I'd better take out the m’fers first”
To: SmokingJoe
Facebook and Twitter at the very least deserve to go the same route as AOL and MySpace. Until that happens, nobody benefits.
