Wisconsin showcases how conservatives rebound

It's fashionable in the media to declare the conservative movement doomed following the presidential election. And with razor-thin margins making Wisconsin and other Midwestern states key battlegrounds, it’s equally fashionable to credit a rebuilt “Blue Wall” for the outcome.

What is fashionable is often flawed.

When a party is out of power nationally, the states are where it can (and undoubtedly will) rebuild. And Wisconsin – home of the famed “Cheesehead Revolution” that ushered in sweeping conservative reforms and unrivaled national leadership 10 years ago – is America’s strongest model for a durable conservative movement. The Badger State’s enduring impact of state reforms, out-sized influence of center-right organizations providing intellectual capital, and unparalleled grassroots political infrastructure all point toward an eventual Cheesehead Revolution 2.0 – and demonstrate how conservatives can forge a path elsewhere.

The Cheesehead Revolution began exactly a decade ago when Republicans swept into power in Madison, led by Gov. Scott Walker. To close a $3.6 billion deficit left by the Democrat predecessor, they passed dramatic changes including collective bargaining reform – Act 10, significantly curbing the power of public sector union bosses. In response, tens of thousands of liberal protesters swarmed the Capitol, culminating in the historic failed recall of Walker in 2012. Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan took reform national with his ascension to vice presidential nominee, then Speaker of the House. U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson and Donald J. Trump won upsets in 2016 – landing, that’s right, Wisconsin’s Reince Priebus as White House chief of staff.

This is where the fight is, at the state level to clean them up one by one to ensure integrity voting for the future.

I have no idea if it is too late or whether the damage is permanent, but that’s where the fight has to go.

How Scott Walker beat back the Dems, survived two recalls, and balanced Wisconsin’s budget is why I chose him early in the 2015-16 primary season. Unlike a lot of R’s at the time, he had a proven record of fighting hard against nasty Dems. Unfortunately, he was beat decisively in Iowa and dropped out soon after. Then I backed Cruz until he lost his marbles at the Convention.

I liked everything I was hearing from Trump back then. But I wanted a record after the disasters of McCain and Romney. After he thumped all comers at the RNC, he had the record I was looking for!

The ouster of Gov. Walker foreshadowed DJT’s defeat - many parallels including massive election fraud, naked raw unbridled hate of Walker, and so on.

The GOP controlled legislature is so great that they uttered nary a peep about the massive fraud in the 2020 election. In fact seemed to bend over in accepting the fake win.

Right now radical leftist Governor Tony “Skelator” Evers and his cabal are doing all they can to reverse all of Walker’s accomplishments including Act 10 which busted the teachers unions and gave huge property tax relief across the state.

Missouri was a "key battleground" - until the Democrat cheaters found that they couldn't take the state no matter how hard they cheated.

Now, it's a safe red state since the Democrat vote factories left.

The 2018 Wisconsin gubernatorial “election” was stolen as a dress rehearsal for 2020 - just like in Michigan...

Missouri is like Ohio and Iowa, the demographics favored the GOP. The Democratic Party is so far Left that they no longer appeal to the typical American. That’s why Joe Biden is pushing heavily toward immigration. So immigrants (illegal and legal) will outnumber native Americans and the GOP will never be competitive in national elections ever again. Look at what is happening in California. That is our country’s future.

I am not from Wisconsin, but I watched the constant, daily Democrat and state employee union outrages against Walker. Like Trump, average people hear constant, shrill, corrupt media reportage, the constant drum-beat of manufactured political controversy - and assume “something” must be wrong with the candidate. Even a filthy, untrustworthy media can still drag their target into the dirt with them.

The phrasings have started. Reject them. They are trying to define conservatism to be what it was pre Trump, and no, it’s never going back to establishment BS.

Conservatism is Drain the Swamp, Build the Wall, and America First in all Things — which means end the endless wars.

Anyone who pretends to be a Republican but doesn’t embrace those litmus tests — boot them out.
