Forget GameStop, Trump’s ‘Art of the Comeback’ book surges in value

It’s bigger than GameStop.

Former President Trump’s 1997 book “The Art of the Comeback” is now selling for $900 on Amazon. It sold for $25.95 at the time of its release. That’s a 3,300% profit it you have a copy to sell.

The book, published by Times Books-Random House and long out of print, is being hawked by third-party sellers and was still easily available for a mere $28.56 in October 2016. Even as late as August 2020, the book could be purchased on Amazon for about 50 bucks.

The tome, which details Trump’s rise out of financial ruin, was a bestseller at the time, despite garnering less-than-stellar reviews. The New York Times dismissed it as “at best a moderately interesting book” and an “ungripping account.”

The price is “just probably because that particular book is not widely available, but if you go to the local public library you can probably borrow it for free,” veteran book publisher Judith Regan told The Post. “There’s a sucker born every minute. What can I tell you?”

LOL. I was eating breakfast with my wife and discovered she is reading it. She was briefing me on what she thinks Trump is up to based on what he wrote.

Judith Regan is rather snarky, isn’t she?

I have that book, by the way.

I bought Art of the Deal when it came out. Friends bought a new home that had a fantastic library - wall to wall and to the ceiling complete with ladder. The shelves were empty and since I was finished with the book I gave it to them. How did I know some day I’d be sorry? I don’t have the guts to ask for it back....or hint - “BTW, do you still have xxxxxxx?”

A PDF of the book can be downloaded from

if you want it to read, rather than as an “investment.”

I did something similar. I bought “Art of the Deal” as soon as Trump came down the stairs. I was so impressed by it I loaned to somebody and have no memory of who it was. Now I wish I had it back.

All of his books are worth reading. There are many of them. Some came also on CD. One learns clearly that decades ago he was thinking about and suggesting solutions for the big issues that he addressed during his presidency. The Left tried so hard to get people to be against him. HIs books show what a serious thinker he has always been and how much he loves the U.S.A. and knew what had to happen to rescue her from the pit into which she was being pushed.
