A top New York Times reporter has resigned and apologized for his 'extraordinarily bad judgement' over his use of the N-word after his Pulitzer Prize-winning colleague Nikole Hannah-Jones threatened to launch her own investigation into him.

In a letter to staff Friday, Donald McNeil Jr. announced he was standing down from the paper after 45 years saying he 'originally thought the context in which I used this ugly word could be defended' but now realized 'it cannot.'

Top bosses had previously said he should be 'given another chance' saying McNeil hadn't used the word with 'malicious or hateful intent' during the Times-sponsored school trip but also changed tact Friday telling staff 'we do not tolerate racist language regardless of intent.'

So awesome to live in a country like North Korea or the old Soviet Union where your fellow citizens turn you in for the reeducation camps for "bad speak" or "bad think" crimes. Nice job leftists!

“ ‘On a 2019 New York Times trip to Peru for high school students, I was asked at dinner by a student whether I thought a classmate of hers should have been suspended for a video she had made as a 12-year-old in which she used a racial slur,’ he said, according to the Washington Post which obtained a copy of the note.

‘To understand what was in the video, I asked if she had called someone else the slur or whether she was rapping or quoting a book title. In asking the question, I used the slur itself.’

This is BS and Rebekah (writer of the racist 1619 project) should be fired for blackmail, racism and being an all around moron.

Another affirmative action BS award. Black radical females seem to be running our entire country. Tell me who else gets away with more, or is given more?

it’s pretty disgusting this filthy pig got her way, but on the other hand, the old white communist who was fired at the NYT probably was pushing for all these racial quotas and pushing the false narrative of “white supremacy”, so now he can deal with it.

Don't you realize white boy? I guess you have been put in your place. Blacks can use it all day long. In fact if you are black you can utter all kinds of racial crap.

yep they can hate and commit all kinds of verbal attacks and even physical attacks with a pass.
yet these white Communists in power who have created this type of atmosphere can deal with the consequences. Hell, most of them are masochistic and probably think they deserve it. Failures.

The Left’s absence of fear is nothing more than a delusional sense of security.

I’ve made it a habit to avoid initiating confrontations with others that are well within their asshole boundaries. I’ve seen what’s happened to those that arrogantly accost the wrong person — ain’t pretty, and on a few occasions, quite scary.

The Left is too comfortable unleashing its gratuitous condemnation. The Left has no clue about the fear it’s inviting.

So the Times would consider John Lennon a racist, would they? After all, he released an album entitled “Woman Is The (N-word) of the World”.

I guess the Times cannot quote many rap songs either.

>> so now he can deal with it.

We’ve finally arrived to the point of reserving ideals for our mutual benefit.

I too no longer GAS about any injustices a Leftist may suffer.

Consider any adage portraying apathy the worse of hatred.

Communists like Donald McNeil Jr. promote identity politics in order to fuel dialectical materialism which they use to acquire power and influence needed to persecute their political opponents.

So Donald McNeil Jr. Can suck it!

They always eat their own. They can’t trust each other because they are dirty rotten birds of a feather, thus they know they must always protect their backs by getting to their own dirty bird comrades before one of them gets to them first.

Xiden used the N-word twice on the senate floor.

No outrage, just hypocrisy.

"after 45 years"

He'll still be collecting a check from the Times. (Probably a bigger check than most retirees collect.)

There are worse things to happen to people than being banished to play golf in a red state with good weather.
