Voting for Donald Trump’s impeachment and keeping the people in leadership positions who supported this recent impeachment push is going to drive the GOP base mad. It already has. I will not be shocked if Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) faces a serious primary challenge in 2022. While there were reports that at least half of the House GOP caucus wanted her gone, she remained, handily winning a secret ballot vote. It’s a classic case of all talk, no action. Saying one thing but doing another. I know, that’s a hallmark characteristic of American politics, but people have had it. It’s given in to the populist swell within the GOP. And with Trump gone, there is a fear that a new party could emerge. Now, Trump’s political team has disavowed the formation of this “patriot party.” But that’s not the same thing as Trump himself saying he has done so. GOP leadership should be watching. Their base is getting restless with these betrayals, one of the biggest being the failed repeal of Obamacare. For ten years, that was a promise — and nothing happened. No wonder why a new poll shows that a whopping 64 percent of Republicans would jump ship for a Trump-led political party. Oh, and the former president would get a sizeable chunk of Democrats too (via The Hill):
A majority of Republican voters said if former President Trump were to start a new political party they would likely join, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.
Sixty-four percent of registered Republican voters in the Jan. 28-29 survey said they'd join a new political party led by the former president, including 32 percent who said they would very likely join.
By contrast, 36 percent of Republican respondents said they are either very or somewhat unlikely to join.

“I was a Perot voter. He was completely right.”
He may have been right on principal, but he was stone cold ignorant about the effect of fracturing Republicans and inflicting the Clintons on us.
No {excrement}. I didn’t leave the GOP, the GOP abandoned me. I’ll vote anti-leftist until the day I die, but that may no longer be GOP.
“Could lose”? You bet your sweet bippy! They have “lost” me, forever.
It’s because of those spineless, gutless cowards that there is no point in registering to vote from this point forth. I keep hearing all of this talk about 2022 elections. Why? The bastards to stole the 2020 elections sure as hell aren’t going to do one damned thing to prevent that garbage from happening from here on out. Anybody who thinks otherwise is an idiot.
Thank You Very Much, GOP Establishment scumbags.
I don’t give a rat’s @$$ about the republican party. I’m so done. It is INSULTING how they play folks.
“Weak.”
..............
So what’s your solution? Remain victims? Keep saying they cheated? More useless secession talk? Shall we hold our breaths and stomp our feet?
I would guess that somewhere between 20 and 25% actually made the official split I made.
The problem with this is that there a huge number of old dogs that you can’t teach new tricks. Just like there are bunch of people who still watch fox news even thought they read this forum every day. So we have a huge number of people who will never move from where they are. And this mean that this action will split the vote.
Those of us that have been dealing with the GOP for decades already knew what SCUM they were but continued to hold our noses and vote for them anyway!! What Trump has done is OPEN OUR EYES to end this battered wife syndrome with the GOP!! These bastards have now given us and this nation the ultimate betrayal letting a fraudulent election STAND with no concern what so ever!! They have given the base the FINAL middle finger!! What the party did to Trump over his presidency was disgusting and unforgivable for decades we have held our noses and voted for their SWAMP candidates, WHEN WE finally have a POTUS that we LOVE these bastards flip us off!! I am SO DONE with the GOP!!!
I changed my registration to independent on January 6th. We should primary and if we lose those primaries, stay home in the general election.
Dums would still find a way to screw Americans.
Republicans are not the answer, they are who put us here.
Party or not, no one I know is voting GOP anymore.
The Commies can do it without Texas.
I changed my voter registration to "no party" with the elections board. Unless something is done to protect my vote, I won't be voting again, ever. If President Trump started a third party, I'd go with him, but I guess he's intent on reforming the GOP, which is so corrupt, it will never be fixed. I cannot in good conscience vote for a party that doesn't respect my vote enough to protect it.
No.
They did it to US!
I think a Trump led party would pull more than 15% of dems. There is a reason both party establishments fought to defeat him.
Where’s the “You Don’t Say” guy meme?
rather waste my vote on a patriot party than give it to republican that does not represent me. not that it matters since the dems count the votes anyway
Drastic times call for drastic measures. I can’t stand the GOP. I was active for them. I saw some of what was going on and they ‘ve turned me off. Not saying I would vote for any of them, but a terrible party. Look what they re doing to Greene.
We did what you have posted....in 2010 and in 2016. We got screwed both times!! Not going to happen again.
Oh and I heard today that Boehner is set to rake in $20 million if the Dems legalize marijuana.
