Democratic Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips apologized Thursday for a display of “privilege” during the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
Phillips joined a number of his colleagues in the House of Representatives as they took turns sharing their personal feelings and experiences from that day — but rather than talk about his own story, Phillips turned his statement into an apology to his colleagues of color.
Phillips began by saying that his intent was not to seek sympathy from his colleagues but rather to “make a public apology.”
“Recognizing that we were sitting ducks in this room as the chamber was about to be breached, I screamed to my colleagues to follow me, to follow me across the aisle to the Republican side of the chamber so that we could blend in,” Phillips said that, believing that the rioters were Trump supporters, he thought anyone who was mistaken for a Republican might be spared.

He meant to say, I am sorry for being white and male. I really hate myself for being those two things but will have to get through life somehow as a white male. I can still self loathe but it makes it tough on me and those around me who have to hear me whine all day.

Dean Phillips makes $174,000/yr to represent his district. Yet, at the first indication of trouble his first response was to turn his coat and seek safety among the GOP contingent. Now, safe and secure he blatantly kowtows to the Dem’s shibboleth dujour. No soup for the shameless Mr Phillips.
If they were “sitting ducks,” why are ANY of them still with us??? What a waste of space our so-called representatives are!
I think the crowd had an issue with the Republicans, not the DEMONcRATS.

Remember, only ONE person was deliberately killed at that riot, and it was one of the rioters, by a police officer.
3 protesters died of medical issues.
A police officer died the next evening, of still unannounced cause, but it is becoming clear he was not beaten with a fire extinguisher.
All other injuries NOT inflicted on the rioters and protesters were sustained by the Capital Police — and are typical for undermanned police trying to stop protesters, when their political bosses refuse to let them wear appropriate gear.
Not ONE civilian was injured in any way by the protesters, or by the rioters. NOT ONE person in the capital was actually at risk at any time. They were all “scared” because they watched the left-wing summer riots, and thought the right-wing group would be the same, but it was not.
Now they know how hundreds of thousands of ordinary americans felt this summer as the liberals sacked and burned out cities, surrounded our cars, assaulted our homes, and murdered each other and our police officers.
I mean, the only supposedly TARGETED person was The Vice President, Mike Pence.
“... might be spared...” Any clue as to “spared” from what? Not sure what advance info this pansy had. Seemed odd to us since we were watching the objections that nanzi seemed to vanish well before the chamber breach. Odd indeed.
