Wrong. I’m incredibly religious, pro life across the board & oppose gay marriage, etc. I’m a strong social conservative & quite tradionalist. But I am a realist as to where others are & what the best hand to play in influencing others into changing their minds in our direction. When I say I’m a moderate traditionalist, I’m not talking about my own stances on things. My goal is to ultimately persuade people to a tradionalist way of believing, but on each issue we are going to have to know where the generally starts out at. I would say the public is more in line with us on abortion than gays. People understand abortion is a violent, life ending procedure & is morally wrong. On gays, we are going to have to be more creative. I’m not talking about changing our beliefs- I’m talking about altering our tactics on gays to move people in a more traditional direction. There are many who act like the point of all this is electing someone who isn’t afraid to say what’s right & wrong & quote a bible verse. That’s the easier part of it. What’s forgotten about is the other half of it- the harder part- being tactical & smart, making convincing arguments that people are open to hearing, influencing culture, changing policy & moving them in a traditional values direction. It’s tactical. If stating right & wrong alone changed things, it’d have succeeded a long time ago. We have to change & influence the culture. We have to be tactical. The fact that we are resistant to that is why we continually cede issues š
They have 'gotten away' with changing the wording of their perversion.
I say we need to re-capture the language.
