No country has been more successful in getting COVID vaccine to its citizens than Israel. Why? Three reasons stand out, and the third one is likely to help people around the world.
1. Israel can vaccinate the population quickly because it has a very competent, comprehensive national health system, based on several health maintenance organizations, all supervised by the Ministry of Health. The system includes digitized medical records for everyone in the country.
2. Israel bought enough vaccine. Earlier in the pandemic, it contracted for millions of doses from Moderna. More recently, it agreed to buy millions more from Pfizer so everyone over 16 can be vaccinated by the end of March. To clinch the Pfizer purchase, Jerusalem gave the company two incentives: It paid well above the market price, and it offered to share medical data with the company—data that few other countries could gather.
3. Israeli biostatisticians can pair the medical reactions of millions of vaccine recipients with each one’s medical history and demographic data. This will allow public health professionals worldwide to gain a nuanced understanding of how the vaccine works, both in the entire population and in various subgroups, such as women over 80 or people with Type II diabetes.

How much does the US give to Israel each year? Just asking for a friend.
"It shows that the vaccine is actually more effective than Pfizer reported from its Phase 3 trials. By Jan. 30, six weeks after Israel began inoculations, more than 1.7 million Israelis had received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Another 1.3 million had received their first dose. Of those who received the full inoculation, only around 300 later showed any significant COVID symptoms (less than ½ of 1%). Only 16 needed hospital care, less than 0.002%. A single dose seems to provide about half the necessary protection."
This is critical data to helping the rest of the world prepare for what comes next once mass vaccination has reached much of the population. From Israel's data thus far, it seems we can expect an even more dramatic impact from the vaccines than expected. Virtually no one needing medical assistance for COVID-19 anymore. This is fantastic news!
What’s a bummer is that they have given shots to a far larger portion of their population than us and their infection numbers are only just starting to top-out.
About $3.8 Billion per year in military aid, plus a few billion in available loan guarantees. However, they haven’t made use of US loan guarantees since 2005.

I guess the flu can come back now.
Their increase in cases began at the beginning of November and was pretty massive. The vaccines take ~38 days to reach full effectiveness and they aren’t doing anything for people already infected.
The benefit for Israel is this is likely the last spike in cases they’ll see for COVID-19, barring an immunity-breaking mutation. Thus far, the vaccines that are available have been demonstrated to work fine against all known variants.
...because that nice Jewish doctor isn’t going to date your daughter if she doesn’t have all her shots.
It’s likely because the whole country is the size of NJ and has barely 9M people. I know nothing about their health care system or distribution methods, but I’m pretty sure it will take longer to do 330M spread out over vast real estate than 9M packed into an area the size of one of our smallest states.
Or, perhaps the next pandemic in the neverending series..?
That, and they are perpetually on a war footing - so their logistics are honed.
Serious viral outbreak in the military ranks would surely be taken advantage of by their enemies - and there is almost zero room for fallback.
From what I’ve read, not that it helps.
Another reason — fear. The virus/lockdown hysteria in Israel, as in the UK, is beyond ridiculous. They need to study the experience in Florida and audit the phony metrics. The orthodox have wised up to shamdemic, but secular Israelis are acting as if they are living through the bubonic plague.
$3b that they give right back to our military industrial complex. Feel better now?
Because they don’t have idiot Democrat governors holding citizens hostage.
Considering Israel is smaller than the county I live in it makes sense.
They are smarter than us.
Perhaps slightly more than to the terrorist state of Pakistan.
“What’s a bummer is that they have given shots to a far larger portion of their population than us and their infection numbers are only just starting to top-out.”
That’s not a meaningful comparison, the two countries are much too different.
Because they chose to purposely misunderstand Jeremiah 31:31-33?
