The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations is inspecting incoming packaging for a wide variety of fake gear that is being shipped to Tampa this week ahead of Super Bowl LV.
“We see a lot of our counterfeit goods coming in from overseas, particularly from China and Hong Kong and it’s coming in through our mail and parcel system,” said Brian Weinhaus with Homeland Security Investigations.

Not really sure how something is deemed counterfeit if it rolls out of the same chinese factory that produced the “original”. Does DHS consider all the extra dollars rolling out of the treasury counterfeit, too?

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations should 'inspect' the crap Amazon sells... and some of the other online rip-offs.
Looking for "made in China" knockoff football gear is small potatoes compared to Amazon.
All they have to look for is comments on Amazon that say things like "I've bought this in stores and the quality is NOT the same..."
I'm guessing this is high profile stunt by Homeland to get free press for themselves piggy backed off the game.
