(CNN)About 70% to 85% of the US population should be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before the country can begin to return to a sense of normalcy, Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNN Tuesday night.
So far, less that 2%about of Americans have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

We can return to normal now. Only 15% of the US is over 65. The infection fatality rate for those under 65 is approximately
.068% - under 45
.23% - 46-55
.75% - 56-65
Another 12% of the population (42mm) is 56-65. We’ve distributed enough vaccine already to vaccinate everyone over 65. It will take about 25 days to do everyone from 56-65. Then it doesn’t matter if people continue to get covid because it will be people who have no significant risk, a survival rate of 99.8% or better.
