While the recall effort against California Governor Gavin Newsom has continued to pick up steam, a recent poll found his approval rating 28 percent higher than the approval rating received by former Governor Gray Davis, prior to his own recall.
The poll, which was conducted by the nonpartisan Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC), found 52 percent of likely voters in California saying they approve of the job Newsom is doing as governor, while 43 percent said they disapproved and five percent said they didn't know.
The polls' findings come as the recall effort against Newsom continues to gain more support, amid ongoing criticism of how the governor handled the novel coronavirus pandemic.

That poll can't be right or even close.
I know democrat donors and staunch democrat voters.

I just saw the roster of people I use to work with still my bosses employee board and I instantly got angry at the destruction Newsom has wrought on their lives and mine.

When I walk into my office and a bunch of democrats are pushing the recall and making goals to fill up sheet and how they are going to do it, then this poll is definitely bunk...

I sympathize with you in the extreme and hope he is sent packing for what he and his ilk are doing to a great state, but be careful about getting your hopes up.
Lest we forget, according to the Trump campaign his rallies would typically draw 25-40% democrat voters yet Biden got the most votes of anyone in history.
California elections seem to be off. In most states where there is defacto one party rule voter participation typically drops, but in California it increases. Something is not right.
99% of polls reflect the feelings of democrat ‘elites’...same as the MSM. Both groups - - corrupt tools.

Worst of all possible outcomes - the recall fails by just a whisker. Knowing how the institutionalized and systemic voter fraud works in California, the possibility, nay, the PROBABILITY, of such an outcome becomes highly likely.
Second worst of outcomes is that the next couple of probable candidates do succeed in beating out Gruesome by large enough margin to make the recall a success, but the two highest vote getters are both Democrats, and that would make a difference without a distinction, as the entire state government remains perhaps just as corrupt as ever, being a choice of Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum.
But maybe, just maybe, a Republican does come out on top in this “jungle primary”. There are a lot of disaffected Democrats that perhaps could be persuaded to switch over, but then, you have that annoying “mail-in” (or “malign”) option, that has been known to set up almost sure defeat for the leader in any run-off. Plus, of course, the completely illegal acceptance of votes from both non-citizens and those who are deceased.

This is sort of like the time Mike Ditka chose not to run against Barack Obama for the US Senate seat in Illinois. Had Ditka run, it would've killed off Obama's career. Californians must seize the moment.

Given that it’s already been proven that every single fake news poll is fake, this so called “poll” is of no value whatsoever.
