A fair point. However, the Rule of Law used to be important, and now seems to have been cast aside. If the Oligarchy adheres to the Constitution, and follows state laws, then we can’t go too far wrong. But what we see is that the laws are just for the little people. The Founders would be horrified.

I cannot tell if it is because the rule of law has been overthrown, or if because the privilege of not being held accountable for your actions has been extended to too many people.
North East Elite (check out public school segregation in New York-havent heard about any busing there) has followed the rules of expediency since founding of the country (maybe even before).
Clintons and others broke in to that clique in the 60s.
Now the number of people involved is too many and the edges are clearly visible.

I think the Founders were more interested in establishing a Constitutional Republic ruled by law, than setting up a government scam to ensure their income and power.

They had the guts to put their signatures on a piece of paper that would ensure they would be executed if they lost and were captured, and they didn’t sign it so they could beat down with their riding crops the “peasants” climbing the rope.
