I support Rand Paul's legislation to ban no-knock raids!
That is What I got from the link.
Not surprisingly, this does not happen in Maryland’s red counties.
I agree.
If you ban them all, if something like a “real” terrorist
situation comes along, they’ll be able to do it anyway via
enhanced rules for such situations under Homeland Security.
For the rank and file BS they do where innocent people’s
homes are raided, forget it.
One of my employer’s sons was out front of his home one
afternoon and a mass of police cars came flying up the
street to his place of residence. He as cuffed and
treated quite roughly while his family wondered what the
hell was going on.
Wrong location.
Too many bad things happen in these situation that far
outweigh the ordinal suspect threat.
But if SWAT is on the case then they can surround the place before they knock. And they can get a damned plumber if they think there's evidence worth getting down a drain or toilet.
None of that justifies no-knock raids which endanger lives.
Some might say that the element of surprise might save a life of someone inside who might be in danger from a perp, however I can't see that this will happen very often if at all. If the perp knows he's surrounded by SWAT why would he commit another crime by killing, harming, or taking another occupant hostage when he knows he's had?
The police have never explained why they raided him except to say he was a member of “anti-government” organizations and possessed firearms.
Not good enough.
In our surveillance society, even if the target got away, he wouldn’t get very far. It’s not like someone can go West or cross the border and start a new life.
These no knock raids put everyone at risk, Now it looks like we’ll also face very inconsistent and unconstitutional laws, 1st and 2nd amendment, a lot of people just won’t comply and anything can happen.
This story is Monty Co. big surprise.
Yeah, oops.
Too late!

Lemp’s family should be filing a civil rights case against Montgomery County.
Wrongful death.
Breonna Taylor was not a no knock. LEFTISTs cant help themselves. They have to lie.

Damned straight!
I may be wrong but,
Isn’t this exactly what Democrats are calling for?
Getting rid of right wing group members????
Only after it happened to one of them.
Goes to show they don’t give a rip about the people who elected them or they would have taken that action the first time it happened to ANYONE.
He must have been white, because if he was black it would be nonstop coverage.
Support the 2nd Amendment and complain about the police, get shot dead.
Sieg Heil!
I am glad that more people are realizing SWAT/no knock raids/use of militarized police should be exceptional events only used in rare and unique cases. They should never be part of ‘regular policing.’ This doesn’t matter if someone is a BLM member, a part of the KKK, or the chapter head of the local knitting club. No knock raids should still not be part of regular policing.
Now, there will be cases where SWAT and no knock raids will be required. For example, an armed group massing up inside a building, a hostage event, a situation that is rapidly going off the rails and it is clear armed violence is imminent.
But outside such cases there is no need to send a squad of militarized police to a residence. There are many cases that only require a Barney Fife to resolve, and sending over Mayberry’s version of FBI HRT only risks making a situation much worse.
Save Delta/DEVGRU for situations that really require those special skills, and even then serious planning needs to be undertaken to avoid a Waco.
Anyway - glad people are realizing no knock raids may have been taken too far. They should not be standard police procedure.
