Youth athletes report ER visits due to mask-wearing
Alpha News ^ | February 2, 2021 | Rose Williams -

One response indicated that a player needed a “life flight” to the hospital due to a “traumatic injury” while playing with a mask on...

A survey completed by student athletes and their parents revealed the harmful effects mask-wearing has had on high school sports players’ physical and mental health.

Seventy-four percent of students who responded reported experiencing at least one “clinically significant symptom” from wearing a mask while playing, including loss of consciousness, dizziness, and vomiting.

The informal survey was organized by Let Them Play MN, a grassroots organization of parents and kids who are fighting against Gov. Tim Walz and the Minnesota State High School League’s regulations surrounding shortened or eliminated sports seasons, spectator rules, and mask mandates.

2,270 responses were received for the survey regarding athletes’ experiences while wearing masks during practices and games...

Almost 80% of respondents said it was hard to breathe, and 52% said they experienced “increased or excessive fatigue.” A total of 48 players reported going to urgent care, and 18 players were taken to the ER, one by ambulance.

One response indicated that a player needed a “life flight” to the hospital due to a “traumatic injury” while playing with a mask on.

Fifty-six percent of participants reported visual impairment while wearing a mask, with 35% reporting the effects of reduced vision as “unsafe.” Fifty-nine players disclosed injuries due to “reduced peripheral vision.”

Mental health is also a concern for many parents and their athletes. Another 1,300 responses, or 57%, showed players’ mental health suffering due to sports shutdowns...

While 40% said they are “super excited to be back out playing,” 33% reported they have thought about dropping out of their sport because of the mask rules currently in place.

A section of the survey called “Next Level Impacts” provides information on students who have lost college athletic scholarships (177) and recruitment opportunities (298).

More than 300 parents reported spending over $250 on additional equipment or services due to the regulations. Purchasing new hockey helmets, traveling out of state to continue practices, paying clinic and hospital bills related to mask-induced injuries, and paying for streaming services for games are all examples of extra expenses parents have paid.

Additionally, when asked about the general effects of masks and extended shutdowns, 60% of respondents specified a lower level of performance overall because of these factors.

Ninety people living in states other than Minnesota responded to this survey, and their responses are included in the overall survey results. The survey was conducted from Jan. 20 to 26. Let Them Play’s first survey of youth athletes was released Jan. 13.

The next Olympics will be so grand. The trannies will be able to hide out in plain sight because all of the participants will be required to wear masks.

My dental hygienist was complaining that the fibers in her mask were irritating her throat and lungs from all the hours she had to wear it. Had to take a break to deal with the cough it was causing her.

The dems destroy everything good and that makes life worth living.

And they don’t care as long as they have their wealth and power and can do as THEY please.

I would assume that Gov. Tim Walz and the Minnesota State High School League would have an advising physician when making mask mandates.

But I find it hard to believe that a physician would recommend wearing a mask during strenuous exercise or labor.

It just defies the most basic knowledge of respiration and the need for oxygen during exertion.

All of the symptoms that the athletes experienced are indicative of oxygen deprivation.

No parent should allow their child to participate in a sport if that participation requires the child to wear a mask. We’re talking child endangerment.

Why hasn’t Halloween or cosplay been banned then? Why don’t we keep all children wrapped in a bubble?

Why hasn’t Halloween or cosplay been banned then?

Halloween and cosplay mask are voluntary, and the wearer can take them off at any time if they are uncomfortable.

When I was a kid most of the time my mask was face paint. I also recall that most of the kids walking around with the plastic mask wore them as hats until they were on the porch about to get their candy.

Walking door to door is hardly strenuous for a preteen particularly at the end of October with cool fall temperatures.

Cosplay usually is also a relatively sedate affair that happens in air-conditioned comfort. Walking or sitting around a convention center where the participant is free to remove the mask if uncomfortable. I don’t follow cosplay personally. I wouldn’t be surprised it their conventions have been cancelled during this false pandemic.

The athletes are going to be reprimanded if they remove the mask. Refusal to wear the mask means exclusion from the activity.

The athletes should just wear the Fauxi diapers around their necks and then flip the bird to the MN Gestazi.

March 2020 - fauxci says masks dont work, they make people feel good

The evidence they make things worse for people is clear, they decrease o2 intake, and increase co2 intake, and many docs say they may cause more people to get sick rebreathing in their own exhalations

I wear a breathable cotton neck gaiter. Unfortunately I have to wear a mask at work but I’m not wearing those cheap earloop ones.

If you have to wear a mask, get the polyester ones from Costco. Polyester is a continuous fiber, meaning there are no fibers you can inhale.

Wash them with an antibacterial soap and rinse very well.

They don’t stop shit, and breathing with them is easier than any other mask I’ve used.

According to newzjunkey, “anti-maskers” are misreporting the true need for three masks on uninfected people:

From “ Fauci Says ‘Possible’ CDC Will Recommend Americans Wear Two Masks To Protect Against COVID-19:”

I don't think it's “two masks” as much as two (or more) layers. The “medical” style masks are 3 layers whereas a cloth facial covering is just one.

I suspect the anti-maskers are deliberately misreporting.

I dunno about up there, but here in Texas, our dictator-wannabe has said that a face shield or scarf/bandanna is just as good as a fully sealed N95 mask. Maybe try wearing something like that that doesn't constrict breathing at all, but still meets the completely non-medical, non-physics-based mask edict from your State's fuhrer?
