Southern France set to sizzle, says new climate change study
France24 ^ | February 2, 2021

That dream house in southern France that so many fantasise about is going to become uncomfortably hot in coming decades, according to new climate change projections Monday by the country's national weather service.

Even if humanity manages to modestly reduce greenhouse gas emissions -- which so far has only happened during a raging pandemic or a global recession -- France as a whole is on track to heat up nearly three degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels by about 2070, Meteo France said in a report.

And if carbon pollution continues unabated, average annual temperatures across the nation will, by century's end, soar 4.5C beyond that benchmark.

That is verging on an unliveable world, a raft of climate studies have shown.

Earlier climate models have predicted that France and the Mediterranean basin will be hit especially hard by heatwaves along with declining rainfall, and that reality has begun to bite.

"All observations made across the planet confirm an unprecedented acceleration of climate change."

The 100-page report looked at how three different carbon pollution scenarios could shape France's climate future: a drastic reduction in carbon pollution coupled with the large-scale removal of CO2 from the air; a reckless ramping up of the fossil fuel use which caused the problem to begin with; and a path somewhere between these increasingly unlikely extremes.

More than have the world lives in overheated climates and they appear to be doing fine and reproducing like rabbits. We have air conditioning.

Carbon dioxide gas in earth’s atmosphere amounts to .04% of the total volume. Give me a break.

It could get so warm the ladies at Saint-Tropez beaches may have to take off their bikini tops just to cool down.

pity Lomborg still goes along with the gloBULL warming hoax (Alan Jones is more sceptical). however, this is well worth watching - lots of detail on the outrageous costs involved:

VIDEO: 11 min: 2 Feb: Sky News Australia: Alan Jones: Joe Biden’s climate plan will do ‘virtually nothing’: Bjorn Lomborg
The way world leaders are attempting to tackle climate change is incredibly expensive and will do “very little” to solve the problem, according to environmental author Bjorn Lomborg.
In an exclusive interview with Sky News, Mr Lomborg criticised the expensive approach championed by major world leaders, in particular US President Joe Biden.
Mr Biden has proposed spending in excess of $500 billion dollars each year to combat climate change, which Lomborg points out is the equivalent of $1500 per citizen every year which will “do virtually nothing”...
Many nations across the world are committing to net-zero emissions by 2050 without any sufficient costings on the target.

New Zealand though completed an independent study on the price of such a target and it found the policy would cost around 16 per cent of GDP which would equate to be $240 billion in an Australian context. Mr Lomborg said spending $240 billion every year until 2050 is “unconscionable” and very hard to imagine people will support it.
“If you actually want to fix climate change, you’re not going to do this by these incredibly expensive policies because you’re going to run out of money and willingness to pay.”

Southern France, with its Mediterranean beaches like St. Tropez and Marseilles, lies at latitude 42 degrees , and higher. That’s about the same as Chicago. It, and much of Europe, is kept warmer than Chicago by warm water currents in the Atlantic Ocean, not by the Fake Science of global warming. Residents better hope this keeps up, or there will be an awful lot of multi million dollar (or Euro) yachts up for sale.

Below 0.015% plant life starts to die in quantity. During the last few ice ages we came dangerously close to that level. We were at the lowest CO2 levels in earth's history, thanks mainly to the uplift of the Himalayas and other mountain ranges which extract CO2 via rainfall. Thankfully the industrial revolution came along to bring back safe levels of CO2.,

Now the industrial revolution is transitioning to automation and information economy which uses a lot less energy. Rising living standards are leading to falling birth rates in many parts of the world which will further reduce fossil use. Most importantly the American capitalist economy produced the fundamental breakthroughs that displace fossil, like the semiconductor photocell.

Higher CO2 is to be celebrated, not feared. It's a symbol of material progress and furrther progress will eventually result in stable CO2 levels.

It’s quite amazing that people are promoting a return to the Little Ice Age, a time of death and famine around the world. Cold is bad, warm is good, simple as that.
