Former President Donald Trump announced his new legal team on Sunday that is tasked with defending him during his Senate impeachment trial, which comes after multiple lawyers parted ways with Trump’s team yesterday.
The statement that Trump put out called trial lawyers David Schoen and Bruce L. Castor, Jr. “highly respected” and said that Schoen had already been working with Trump’s team. The statement suggested that the argument on which Trump’s team will focus is that the impeachment trial is “unconstitutional.”
Schoen said, “It is an honor to represent the 45th President, Donald J. Trump, and the United States Constitution.”
Castor added, “I consider it a privilege to represent the 45th President. The strength of our Constitution is about to be tested like never before in our history. It is strong and resilient. A document written for the ages, and it will triumph over partisanship yet again, and always.”
The move comes after news broke late on Saturday night that multiple lawyers that were working with Trump’s team had parted ways after disagreements over how to proceed on matters related to the line of defense that Trump wanted to use.

Trump bump
- Mr. David Schoen is a seasoned trial attorney who has served as lead counsel in several high-profile matters. In 1995, the American Bar Association honored his work with its National Pro Bono Publico Award. According to several federal judges interviewed in connection with his nomination for the award, Mr. Schoen’s litigation was responsible for more change in public institutions in the South, including prisons, jails, public education, foster care, indigent defense and others, than the work of any other lawyer in this era. Mr. Schoen is also the recipient of the Hon. David S. Nelson Public Interest Award. More recently, Mr. Schoen represented victims of terrorism under the Anti-Terrorism Act, traveling overseas to take the depositions of some arch terrorists and otherwise seeking to hold accountable those who provide material support for terrorism against Americans. Today, Mr. Schoen practices law all around the country, focusing on civil rights litigation in Alabama and federal criminal defense work, including white collar and other complex cases, in New York. Mr. Schoen is the chair of the ABA’s Criminal Justice Subcommittee of the Civil Rights Litigation Committee. Mr. Schoen holds a LL.M. degree from Columbia Law School and has taught as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School.
- Mr. Bruce L. Castor, Jr., is the former District Attorney of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, serving in that role from 2000 to 2008. Mr. Castor was later twice-elected Commissioner of Montgomery County and assumed that office on January 7, 2008, concentrating on Public Safety and related matters building on his career in law enforcement. Mr. Castor also served as Solicitor General and acting Attorney General of Pennsylvania. In 1995, he received the Trial Advocacy Award from the National Association of Government Attorneys for his work investigating and prosecuting homicides. He received state-wide recognition for his efforts by the Pennsylvania General Assembly on two occasions. Mr. Castor has been granted many honors throughout his career, including being named a “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer” by Philadelphia Magazine from 2005 to 2008 and 2011 to present. He has also been recognized as among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America from 2012 to present. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Police Hall of Fame in 2007, a rare honor for a prosecutor. In 2009, Mr. Castor was chosen by his peers as a Fellow (later elevated to Senior Fellow) of the Litigation Counsel of America, the national trial lawyer honor society, and eventually appointed a member of Elite American Lawyers, and of the National Academy of Jurisprudence. Mr. Castor is a member of the bar of Pennsylvania, The United States Supreme Court, The Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, and the Federal District Courts for the Eastern District and the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Castor received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and his law degree from Washington and Lee University, where he received the only graduation prize awarded for criminal law from the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Lewis F. Powell. He has received advanced education from the National College of District Attorneys and at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Any lawyer who represents Trump from now on can kiss his/her career goodbye. That’s how effective the Rat Party’s smear campaign has been.
Ignore it completely. Don’t waste a single penny fighting it or a single second worrying about it. it is a farce and completely unconstitutional.
I think there are upwards of 80 million people who are okay with hiring lawyers who help Trump. They just need to set up the appropriate grouping and they will be bulletproof from retribution.

The five that quit and ran to the Press were Lindsey Graham plants.

Case of the Kettle:
A man is charged with borrowing a kettle and
breaking it. His reply is that
- first, he never borrowed it;
- second, it was already broken when he borrowed it;
- third, it was intact when he returned it.
The technique is called “arguing in the alternative.”
Whether this is the right approach for a political show trial targeting President Trump is a political question, not a legal one. My guess is that it’s not.
Our President (who should still be the real President) probably will not want to employ any legal arguments that could harm America.
I’d like to see him:
(1) Attack any opening that the democrats give him. If they introduce a topic by begging the question, such as the “false claim of fraud” accusation, President Trump’s lawyers should insist on exploring the facts and the evidence rather than accepting the propaganda narrative. Whether there was actual election fraud is a material fact in these charges, and that fact has never been evaluated on its merits by our courts. The evidence has never even been aired in an adversarial environment.
(2) Clarify the timeline on when Trump made statements, the exact wording of those statements, and when the Capitol was breached.
(3) Demand the Capitol security video and show where Capitol Police officers removed barriers and invited protestors into the building.
Our president should not get defensive, just stick to the attack, but he should not accept any inaccurate characterizations of the events.
He is going to have to set anybody defending him up for life with swiss bank accounts and some form of protection for their family for life. Democrat congress people have no qualms killing their children, pulling their law licenses, seizing their accounts and every member of their family will have to look over their shoulder until their last days, they are like the terminator robot singular focused and will not stop ever, Democrats lust for revenge is insatiable and they will scorch the earth to get their revenge no matter how many innocent lives are destroyed. They are driven only by hate
Do you believe the smear campaign against President Trump? I don’t. Do you believe big tech corporations, corporate media, Hollywood, Wall Street hedge fund titans who promote group think? I don’t. I think millions of people refuse to be brainwashed.
Boy dailywire is turning into never Trump rag the last year or so his legal team didn’t collapse he wanted to talk about election fraud and they didn’t so he got new ones
Nah last I checked Liz Cheney couldn’t get elected PTA president in Wyoming for turning against trump...just most attorneys are commies by nature
There are plenty of Conservatives who will do business with them.
The lawyers that the President would be inclined to hire probably charge $1,000 an hour.I,for one,can’t afford that kind of money.And given that a huge majority of his supporters are middle class and working class I think most supporters are in the same situation as am I.

Why wouldn’t Lindsey Graham want voter fraud to be discussed?

Rat party? Never Trump blacklists were birthed by the GOP during campaign season 2016. That was FIVE years ago.
Boy dailywire is turning into never Trump rag the last year or so his legal team didn’t collapse he wanted to talk about election fraud and they didn’t so he got new ones
It’s the GOP that doesn’t want to talk about election fraud and it’s role in the steal. The GOP controlled Senate was basically ground zero since of the fraud since they certified the stolen election 93-7.
The absolute last thing China Mitch and his boys want discussed during the impeachment show trial is the stolen election.
