The cop is talking to the girl like she’s an adult. What an idiot. No sensitivity, no training, no heart, a clear inability to relate to children. And then escalation. Cop needs training.

In your/our day, a cop would have been fatherly to a kid that had just witnessed (apparently, I'm not sure) husband abuse and was trying to get away from mom and the sickness at home.
I watched almost all of it and the escalation resulted from the cop not wanting to let her go .... he never says anything liker, "It's for your own good/protection" .... just keeps saying, "C'mere ... c'mere"
The cop is in the wrong and because the blue sticks together, the back-ups just go along with the first guy.
Everything could have been avoided by "What's wrong and what can I do ... OK ... let's go together" ... or something like that

She’s been taught since she was able to crawl that cops, white cops, are the enemy. She acted just like she was taught too.
Probably listens to rap artists who glorify the killing of cops. I’d expect no less from her.

I disagree. In the beginning of the long video he calls her "Dear" and asks her to talk to him. Mom shows up and the hysterics begin. He didn't dare let go of her as Mom said she threatened harm to herself and others. He had to hang on to her. Imagine if he'd let go and she ran out in front of a car?

Norman Rockwell helped shape a nation in the 40's and the 50's by creating the first memes.
Your suggestion, though said flippantly, is not far from wrong.
I'm 73 and I have been the recipient of as kindly cop when I was 6 or 7 or 8 ... I forget.
Pay attention .... this WAS America .... you can kick her when she's down, or you can help her stand back up;

Why should I have to sit through a long video to hear what should have been up front ?
That's Monday morning quarterbacking.

Why should I have to sit through a long video to hear what should have been up front ? Because you're missing information which makes your assertions wrong.
Have a lovely day.

Your suggestion, though said flippantly, is not far from wrong. I get it. Unfortunately, that image is very distant, from a faraway land which for all intents and purposes no longer exists. Btw, I thought I was a cop at about that age. In fact I once got in a bit of trouble for standing in the middle of neighborhood intersection directing traffic. I had a gun, badge and a hat, and that's all I needed. What's funny is the cars were following my traffic directions/commands before being pulled from the intersection.

Lemmee get this right (in your subjective mind)
MY assertion that the cop(s) never said any of those comforting things ...
The police officers had a duty to separate the girl from her parents until the type and extent of the of the abuse could be established. The girl was wet, cold, and hysterical so the officers were obligated to secure the girl in a safe environment outside of the cold.
was something that came up LATER in the video ?
So the cop(s) never separated the ABUSED child from the parent(s) and never established what the abuse WAS and they never said the words ... "Look, I'm freezing let's get in the car where the heater's on ... you can leave the door opoen"
... was something that came at the end of the encounter?

Because the normal people you were around saw you as they see an entrepreneur with a lemonade stand ...
I don't think that IS so far away and gone
Isn't that an example of love for mankind ?
I'm enough of an adult and as much still a father to recognize children in distress ... or sad ... or gleefully happy.
That's what we do when we become a parent ... we study our kids ... and compare them to others, and compare/contrast OURSELVES to other parents ...
And we never forget it, like riding a bicycle
and I'm 73
