1776 Commission Director: Abolishing the Commission Won’t ‘Get Rid of These Principles’

Dr. Matthew Spalding, a professor of constitutional government and Dean of the Van Andel Graduate School of Government at Hillsdale College was interviewed by The Epoch Times’ program (American Thought Leaders). He was the executive director of the ( 1776 Commission), created by executive order by former President Donald Trump.

The host of the program, Jan Jekielek, asked him some key questions highly relevant to the current intense political zeitgeist, allowing Spalding to cast lucidity on the partially forgotten, at least for the younger generations, ideals of 1776.

Parents, look what this administration is denying your child...his or her the history of their country...but left intact the 1619 project. If everyone read Adam Hocheschild's "Bury the Chains" a history of slavery before America as a colony, began her history of that industry...and the reason Biden's administration dropped President Trump's 1776 in a disagreement over the phrase, "all men are created equal..." American slavery was like all things dealing with human slavery everywhere, even today, not a pretty picture. John Newton, an Anglican Priest and author of "Amazing Grace" was a slave trader and as written..."he saw no wrong in what he did." Such was accepted from the beginning of human kind. Another historian on slavery is David Brion Davis...slaves were of all races, not as narrow as the exaggerated/political tradition is about American slavery. Abolitionist from the beginning, fought an up-hill battle, still do.

I wish that we could get rid of the RINOs and rebuild and rename the Party as the 1776 Party...
