I’m referring to his Space X business, which uses NASA infrastructure which we pay/paid for.
If Elon wants to go to Mars, he’ll have to “sell out” to the Leftists. Or hope Texas declare for independence.

Another reason to secede now. Californians would stop moving to Texas. Heck. Many Liberals would leave Austin.

No, it's NOT a variation of an idiom, it's an idiotic and lazy abuse of language.
Words mean things, and being lazy with common expressions only helps those opposed to us, by giving them ammunition like: "Look how ignorant those right-wingers are, not knowing the difference between caring and not caring."
