Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has declined to run for U.S. Senate in Ohio to replace Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), who announced he will not seek re-election next year.

In a statement to Cleveland.com, a spokesperson for Jordan said that the lawmaker “is solely focused on representing the great people of Ohio’s Fourth District, and will not be running to fill the seat of retiring Senator Rob Portman.”

A senate race would get really dirty. The GOP may stand a better chance of winning the house in 2022 than the senate (assuming fair elections return).

The House is the beachhead. The Senate will take much more time.

All efforts must be about getting a sizable MAGA House Majority in 2022.

Kucinich is one of the few Democrats I have some respect for, even if I disagree with him.

This dude looks pretty good. Apparently from a very safe GOP congressional seat, too conservative to win statewide?

Well, being an Ohioan, the House is good focus but I do NOT want two Dem Senators in the state. I have a feeling some Trump supporter will pop up to run.

Someone who is running in 2022 needs to get out there for name recognition and campaigning ASAP.

Time to light a fire in Ohio. Especially while there is some easy initiatives in the news to run on right now.

This is a pattern with Jim Jordan, he will get the folks to talking about the possibility of him seeking an elected position, a few days later, ‘Never Mind’.
It was this way years back when many in the GOP were begging Jim to take John Boehner’s place.
Maybe he just doesn’t want his privacy invaded, and his families’ privacy bulldozed.

Some very competent people do not want the hot limelights of being a celebrity politician. Our friend Ted Cruz does enjoy the perks of being such a ‘celebrity politician’.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
