The Biden administration appears to be sending a mixed message regarding the shutting down of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Gina McCarthy, national climate adviser to President Joe Biden, said Wednesday the administration was "not asking for sacrifice" with an executive order halting construction of the pipeline, per Fox News.
However, the administration's action will cost jobs. The Keystone XL website said the pipeline project would have sustained about 11,000 U.S. jobs, including 8,000 union jobs, and generated $1.6 billion in gross wages in 2021.
Biden apparently sees future jobs as remedies for the loss of work now. His goal of reaching net-zero emissions by at least 2050 highlights a $2 trillion clean energy infrastructure plan which includes the directive "that agencies should work to ensure that any jobs created with funds to address the climate crisis are good jobs with a choice to join a union," per the White House website.

kill 10,000 jobs and say goodbye to a lot of taxes
It would be nice if the EPA employees took a 10% cut in pay to express their solidarity.
No..you’re asking for destitution, not “sacrifice.”
Not asking, telling. They don’t get the victim’s consent by asking an honest question.
Mixed message?
What they stepped in may have been deeper and stinkier than anticipated.
Now they will have to give the UNION OFFICALS some walking around money.
Government employees NEVER sacrifice.
This is crap. You work in the pipeline business, and develop years of expertise in your particular field. You develop a very unique skill set. And these evil people in DC think they should snap their fingers, you should move to another city or state, start at the bottom of the ladder in a whole new career field that they think is more moral. And then they wonder why people storm the capital building.
The Climate Models have errors. Those Errors increase as you go farther out in the future. When you are 100 years in the future - the Error Cone is so large that
Any changes we make today, up to outlawing private cars and stopping commercial flight completely - will be obscured by that error.
Nothing we do will even be noticeable.
Your new taxes which have just begun.

Joe Biden might be the only thing better than pandemic lockdowns at killing jobs.

What will be the “proverbial” straw that we all see coming?
Guess you didn’t get Jim Rob’s message on 1/24 about profanity - no matter how MASKED! It was pretty clear to most of the offenders.

It’s easier to govern when you think of people in groups, castes, classes, whatever. When your governing philosophy is actually anti-individualism, individuals cease to exist, or are, frankly, dehumanized. It’s not technically a sacrifice if the class of workers elsewhere benefit from other jobs.
They will be opening back up the restaurants they will need waiters and dish washers. Those jobs are just as good as those union jobs. They can also learn to code. /s
“Renewables” is a luddite cult in any event. Trading highly productive jobs in the fossil fuel industry for hand-loom style unproductive jobs in the “renewable” sector.

Sounds like make work jobs for 150k a year. Who needs the free market when you can decree jobs to be created and their salaries. Get ready for the price of electricity to skyrocket. It’ll do wonders to sales of electric cars, but soon that’s all you’ll be able to buy.
