Kristi Noem: GOP Hasn’t Followed Through on Healthcare, Immigration — ‘Republican Party Has a Self-Evaluation They Need to Go Through’
Breitbart ^ | January 27, 2021 | JEFF POOR

Posted on 01/28/2021 7:11:04 AM PST by Hojczyk

During an appearance on Wednesday’s broadcast of NewsmaxTV’s “Greg Kelly Reports,” Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) followed up on her oped headlined “The Republican Party Has Failed America, And Here’s How It Needs To Change Now,” which was published on The Federalist website earlier this month.

Noem told host Greg Kelly the GOP had not followed up on its promises on repealing ObamaCare and immigration.“Leadership has consequences, and we saw a Democratic leadership play out in our cities in our country in 2020 — violence, mobs, rioting, looting, lack of enforcement of laws,” she said. “That’s Democrat leadership on display. In that Federalist piece, I talked extensively about Republicans, what we haven’t followed through on and what we need to do in the future. We said we would reform health care, repeal ObamaCare. We have not done that. We said we would deal with immigration. We have not done that. There’s a lot of different promises that we’ve made to the American people that we just have not had the fortitude to pursue and actually get into place and impact their lives.”

“So, the Republican Party has a self-evaluation they need to go through,” Noem added. “And we really need to focus on making sure we’re doing what we say. I’ve always watched every single president, and I’ve watched their actions of what they’ve actually put into place with policies. We as Republicans need to make sure we follow-through with everything we say we stand for as well.”

Sure, we can disagree.

Just remember that I posted right here on FR back in 2010 that the GOP would never repeal ObamaCare no matter how much they insisted it was their #1 priority.

I was right.

Sometimes I hate being right.

I was thinking about Sarah as I wrote the comment.

Sarah is so yesterday. I like her, I respect her, but politically she’s toast. She has a huge following here on FR, but I think many cannot see the reality of what’s going on and are only thinking in terms of how cute she is, as they did with Coulter, Me Again and AOC. For the record, I do not think AOC is cute, even if she weren’t a commie, but lots here have the hots for her.

Not ready for prime time. They’ll eat her up. Same if she’s the VP.

She's going to learn that the hard way in the coming years.

Somehow I’m not convinced you hate being right or even that you are. All that aside though, McCain was very wrong and no excuses for him. He did not make a special trip to D.C. to be a scapegoat. He made that trip to be the serpent.

Never Trumper?

LMAO. You are so far wrong that I can't even be angry at you. Donald J. Trump is the only political candidate I've ever supported financially in my life. That's really saying something, especially if you knew me personally.

Between 2016 and 2020 I attended a total of eight Trump rallies in multiple states. How about you?

See Post #33.

Do you think it's a coincidence that the "serpent" is the one guy among all of them who is dead now? He knew his career was over when he cast that vote in 2017. I don't think he would have voted that way if he was 20 years younger.

If you think I’m a liar then there’s no point in having a conversation anymore. So long.

Politicians don’t even want people to know the difference between health CARE and health INSURANCE. The USA has the best health CARE in the world. Socializing medicine does nothing to improve health care. It actually makes it worse.

Correct, but the real cost of health care is lower not higher. We need a system that among other things puts lowers the cost to real and effective health care and not an inflated insurance based that pays for everything and allows The Doctors and hospitals to charge what ever they want in a non competitive environment.

He did not have to vote at all, but he did and it was a surprise No after promising a Yes. He made a special trip from Arizona just to cast the very last vote, the destroying vote. Give him a free pass on that but I will not. You keep countering a lot for someone who hates to be right.

We have no idea what the "real cost" of health care is.

The only way to find out is to have patients deal directly with health care providers. And that's the LAST thing most Americans even want to think about.

I’m not giving him a free pass. His vote wasn’t a surprise to me. The guy was an asshole from top to bottom. Why would you expect him to act like he wasn’t?

Republicans like Mitch McConnell were in on the obamacare scam. They must have had money invested in companies that were to be enriched by obamacare. McCain just wanted to be the fly in the ointment and voted no.

Trump never really pursued getting rid of obamacare.
Never gave national speeches about it on tv and how bad it was or the democrat party violence, he just twitted away.

Now the democrats will destroy more jobs along with healthcare and they will not be shy about it either.

I respect and understand that for you, there are unanswered questions re. Gov Noem’s capabilities up to this point and how they would transfer upward to presidential level.

For me, what I have seen has been very positive and KN has well governed her state. At this point, she is on my personal short list of Governors that I hope to see in contention in 2024.

I strongly prefer a governor over anyone with legislative only experience. Further, I am open to an exceptional business person such as DJT’s background and history as it was in 2016.

Exactly. These Obamacare and single payer idiots miss the obvious. I simplify it by talking about pizza instead of healthcare.
Say you decide pizza is a human right and the government should provide it to all, equally.

Right now if you want pizza, you have to decide, deep dish or thin, a slice or a pie. How big of a pie? 6”? 12”? 25 inch? A giant sheet of squares on a tray? What do you want on it? veggies, pepperoni? Chicken? Anchovies? Any of a myriad of sausages? Beef? Ham? Pineapple? Mushrooms? Or just cheese? Cheese? Oh yeah, what kind of cheese? The permutations are endless. Dominos gives you 34 million combinations. Maybe you just want a slice from the gas station. Maybe you want frozen, and that ranges from Totinos to Paul Newman and California Pizza kitchen. Make a phone call and you can have pizza brought to you wherever you are.
In America, we practically throw cheap good quality pizza at you as you drive down the street.
Why? Because you can make a profit and earn a good living making pizza.

Now, imagine pizza as a “right” with single payer. Pizza immediately stops being a profit center and becomes and instant cost center. How much pizza a month is your right? Government pizza will be a once every 6 weeks treat and it will be frozen to maximize efficiency, and a committee will decide the style, toppings, size, etc.
You are a cost center. Now every time you get pizza, you cost someone money. You do not make someone rich. You are not the consumer who must be pleased. You are an annoying cost to be minimized at every opportunity, and in every way possible. The best you can hope for is school cafeteria or prison pizza.

Only an idiot wants a right to single payer government pizza.
