I agree with Macron. Modern Capitalism has two fundamental flaws: It is not modern, nor is it capitalist.

Wealth is a function of Ambition.
Some people aspire to be CEOs and get educated to get good paying jobs.
Others are simply willing to accept whatever crumbs come their way.
So essentially the goal is to level people’s ambitions. If you know that you cannot succeed in a Socialist economy, the only two options, are to be a lowly worker, or try to gain power and prestige through “The Party”.

Modern capitalism doesn’t ‘work’ for the ‘elites’...what works for the ‘elites’ is slavery of the masses.

Look at any of the hellhole ‘socialist’ countries - with their ‘very few on top’ and masses of frightened citizens on the bottom. CITIZENS WHO WANT TO ESCAPE.
Commie hellholes have walls and fences to keep people from being able to leave. Free societies use walls to keep people out.
The only up side to what democrat ‘elites’ want to do is the rest of the world’s people will no longer try to move here. The hellhole their in will be the same as the hellhole here. Ever hear of a person ‘breaking into’ China or North Korea or Cuba or Iran? NEVER. BS - you can be ambitious all you want, if you don’t what it takes you ain’t going to get there. Think of all the kids whose ambition is to be a professional player in some sport, how many actually make it?
Not saying that ambition isn’t important, but it ain’t enough.
When someone says “Capitalism” they really mean “Free Enterprise” or a more equitable distribution of Capital amongst the people.
Communism is really nothing more than “State Capitalism”, where the Capital is concentrated in the hands of the State, who can better decide what to do with it than you.
Ditto for the concentration of Capital in the hands of a select few Multinational Corporations.
