RNC Will Not Back Trump in Primary if He Runs Again, Will Stay Neutral

The Republican National Committee (RNC) will not back former President Trump if he chooses to run for office again in 2024 and will instead remain neutral, RNC chair Ronna McDaniel indicated in a Wednesday interview with the Associated Press.

“The party has to stay neutral. I’m not telling anybody to run or not to run in 2024,” McDaniel said, walking the fine line as polls continue to indicate that a sizeable portion of the GOP base continues to back and support the former president.

“That’s going to be up to those candidates going forward. What I really do want to see him do, though, is help us win back majorities in 2022,” she told the outlet.

Similarly, other recent surveys show that GOP voters are not done with Trump, even as Republican lawmakers in Washington attempt to return to business as usual following a contentious presidential election. A recent Politico/Morning Consult revealed that 56 percent of Republican voters “believe that Trump should either probably or definitely run for president again in 2024.”

The survey also found that 50 percent of Republican voters say Trump should play a “major role” in the future of the GOP.

All during the campaign I was bombarded with Trump solicitations from the RNC. They made millions off of Trump. Now they want to tell Trump to go to hell. Don’t expect anything from me RNC.

This is nothing new. National Committees are not supposed to support any one candidate in primaries. Just because the DNC rigs their primaries doesn’t mean the RNC should.

Yeah. They want his support, but they won’t support him? Looks like reason enough for a new party to me.

There is no such thing, in politics, as “neutral”...
Only “neutered”...

There’s no rush. Right now there are good strategic reasons for Trump to remain as the hesd of the GOP.

For one thing, it’s going to take some time to set up a completely new communications system for Trump to be able to communicate directly with his 75 million supporters.

Well, she is Mitch’s niece.

So if he runs on a GOP ticket, the RNC won’t back their own candidate? How messed up is that?

“Which is why you don’t give your hard earned money to the RNC, send it to Trump.”
EXACTLY. Since the GOPe abandoned my President I have unsubscribed from every single party organization. My inbox is so much cleaner now. This family will support President Trump directly when he decides to re-engage. That said, the RINO/UniParty is dead to this family. We are done with them.

The RNC wants to go extinct.

Probably the best thing for this country, provided that a better alternative arises.

Betrayal and treachery certainly are hallmarks of the GOP?RNC!!!

From Sessions to Pence to McDaniel, there are way too many ready and willing to stick a knife in President Trump’s back.

Would love to be the proverbial fly on the wall down in Florida tomorrow when PDJT reads the riot act to Kevin McCarthy for his rebuke!!!

Finally, I still doubt that the RATS would have so easily stolen President Trump’s reelection if Reince Priebus had remained at the helm. At least, he’d have likely caught the unprecedented and unlawful mail-in ballot fraud in his home state of Wisconsin. Plus, Priebus’ legal expertise might have proved invaluable in more successfully filing and prosecuting the myriad court cases.

RNC just sent me the dues request. It went directly into the trash.

Not a dime from me (I don’t have many) because they never ever supported US, only their pockets and their Globalist Never Trumping Buds.

Far better than creating a new party that splits the ticket every single time and hands forever wins to the dems. Take the republican party over and remove all these loosers. Leave them with their mouths gaping. Yup! It’s our party not theirs!

I have seen many say that we MUST stay with the GOP, everything that President Trump accomplished he did so not because he had the party supporting him. He accomplished these things in spite of the GOP’s lukewarm at best support. He had a few fearless warriors in his corner but the gop as a whole didn’t do him any favors. I would support President Trump in an effort to get a third party off the ground, might not work but it would clean the smell of quizling Republicans from my life. I am tired of rinos
