China reserves all options against Taiwan, including the use of force, a Chinese official said Wednesday while issuing a veiled warning at the new administration of Joe Biden.
China claims Taiwan is a breakaway province determined to declare independence with the help of "external forces," despite Taipei's repeated statements to the contrary.
The Taiwan Affairs Office, which is established under China's State Council, returned to familiar rhetoric on Wednesday when spokesperson Zhu Fenglian blamed Taiwan's ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for destabilizing the Taiwan Strait.
It was Zhu's first press conference since two large groups of People's Liberation Army warplanes buzzed the skies near Taiwan over the weekend, drawing a statement from the State Department expressing "concern" at Beijing's actions and reaffirming the Biden administration's "rock-solid" support for Taipei.
Nearly 30 Chinese warplanes, including eight heavy bombers and 14 fighter jets, made sorties into Taiwan's southwestern air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Saturday and Sunday. The flights coincided with the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt to the South China Sea, which has been regarded by allies as a reassuring gesture coming just days after Biden's inauguration.

Looks like Taiwan needs to build a couple of nuclear tipped ballistic missile subs and park them about 600 miles off the China coast.
If the people of Taiwan are really willing to fight and shed blood to defend their freedom, China will never attack. China will do all it can to intimidate, frighten, bribe and try to get the people of Taiwan to consent to reunification. This is an affair between China and Taiwan. No American blood should be shed.

I’ve personally talked to some of Taiwans military people. they will fight to win.I don’t think china will attack as Taiwan has told them the first thing they will do is take out the Three Gorges dam.

Their economy can’t support that kind of weaponry. If it was me running Taiwan, I’d concentrate on smart mines and drones. They can build both cheaply and in great numbers. If they need any help I’d bet India, South Korea and Japan would be willing to supply tech support. Nobody in that area wants to see a Super Power China.
They may attack, but I can’t see Taiwan succeeding in taking out the dam, not at all. It’s something like a 700 mile trip, and the Taiwanese Air force, while a good force, is not going to be making that trip.
That said, if China jumps Taiwan, I expect India to take the opportunity to attack China.
I would not be surprised if China takes the opportunity to start moving in on Taiwan: They are certainly saber rattling. How that might go is for China to ask old Joe to cause a distraction. Like, say, kick the American people until something happens to take world attention and focus it away from Asia...
