Fairfax County should open schools or stop vaccinating teachers [Even after getting vaccinated, teachers union refuses to go back to work]

The Fairfax County school system demanded and then received high-priority placement for teachers and administrators to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Those vaccines began a week ago, and, according to the Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Scott Brabrand, 5,000 teachers have received their first dose and an additional 22,000 teachers are registered to receive their first dose soon.

And yet, having jumped to the front of the vaccine line, Brabrand, the FCPS School Board and the teachers union are delaying opening schools. That raises the question of why they have the priority placement to begin with, and whether these vaccinations should be immediately halted so that high-risk individuals or public servants who have been working outside of their homes for the entirety of the year have access.

There is simply no common-sense explanation for vaccinating teachers ahead of other high-risk groups if they refuse to return to full-time in-person learning. The simple truth is that the Fairfax school system wants the benefits of heroism without taking a heroic action.

At the Jan. 21 school board meeting, Fairfax Education Association President Kimberly Adams said she received her first vaccine dose on Jan. 14, two days ahead of the scheduled start for school personnel. She has said that her union would not support a return to full-time education even in the fall. The fall. As in September 2021. Nine months after she was vaccinated.

Teachers unions are a major cause of the decline of our nation. They are another group that should be publicly shunned.

The crazy leftist contradict themselves constantly.

It is part of the brainwashing concept—you must obey the new edicts (which change hourly) or you are a crazy right-wing extremist.

I would rather have honest, patriot, non-college degree teachers.

School boards need to be the focus, take them over to reform schools.

Well of course!
They are trying to stay at home and draw full pay!
They are not stupid.
Sweet deal if they get away with it.

Well, realizing that this still the United States, at least for now, and it’s a government of the people, by the people, for the people, why not just get rid of the school board?

Get some sane people on the county commission and defund the schools and eliminate school taxes.

There are already free, online K-12 education sites where your kid can learn.

This isn’t going to end until the voters, and some conservative media, stop believing the lies — that this disease is serious for most people and that everyone should have to be restricted rather than the most vulnerable. The truth is slowly leaking out, but the suffering will continue until the dam bursts.

Would it not be wise for neighborhoods to carefully select like-minded members of their community to teach in convenient locations? Of course, parental oversight and involvement are always required. Many societal problems today are due to Fabian Socialist influence in the public schools, via teachers' unions.

Teachers' unions are a dagger held at America's throat. And the above approach could work until, if ever, they are brought under control.

‘They are another group that should be publicly shunned.’

‘that this disease is serious for most people and that everyone should have to be restricted rather than the most vulnerable.’

I was just watching on FoxNews that a new strain of this bug is on the loose in CA, and not only might it be more contagious, but also more lethal...so there’s the excuse to keep the screws digging in...

of course, it might also not be more contagious or lethal, but then, reporting that would water down the delicious fearmongering...

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

That’s what Reagan did with the aircraft controllers. They had a contract that didn’t allow them to strike, they did, were fired and military stepped to replace them until substitutes could be hired.

Stop paying them for NOT teaching. No inner city school combat pay bonuses for remote ‘teaching.’
