President Joe Biden is set to announce a wide-ranging moratorium on new oil and gas leasing on U.S. lands and waters, as his administration moves quickly to reverse Trump administration policies on energy and the environment and address climate change - but it will also lead to the loss of tens of thousands of jobs.
Two people with knowledge of Biden´s plans outlined the proposed moratorium, which will be announced Wednesday. They asked not to be identified because the plan has not been made been public; some details remain in flux.
The move follows a 60-day suspension of new drilling permits for U.S. lands and waters announced last week and follows Biden´s campaign pledge to halt new drilling on federally controlled land and water as part of his plan to address climate change.

not even a week in and how many promises has he broken already? And Americans vote for these kinds of lying candidates time and time again? Why? Do they love massive taxes, less money, more restrictions, less freedom?
They wanted anybody but Trump...so they’re getting what they asked for.
I am still astounded the country is not in a state of mourning, with the silence and boycott of normal life that mourning involves.
It would be a very powerful message striking the unconscious, a big silent treatment.
It is like seeing a woman/man couple/family sick and dying after an illegal and illegit abortion. There should be mass mourning and self flagellation over all of this. Many people are upset, but are so psychologically disorganized and unprepared for a response.
He only said it a billion, in other places, that he was going to do just that.
Joe is not aware of any of that.

Nothing he dictates is legal.
He may have forces to enforce it.
They may not.
Companies and states should make their own decisions as to partake in the “sacred duty” of civil disobedience or not.
Note that this is for “new” permits...not existing ones already issued.
